If people are willing to come out to S. Alexandria I am happy to host. I’m not far from the MVT using the Tulane crossing. I have a giant (60 inch or bigger–it’s huge) tv, plenty of space, and an existing HBO subscription. BUT we’d have to pick a different day since I’m gone July 8. Maybe a weekend or two after (July 15th or something). I can DVR it or use HBO go I’m sure.

If someone has an easier location for people to meet, I have no problem going elsewhere though :)

Emm- how generous. If you are able to record from HBO, how about the following Saturday- July 15?

    Warmly,

Hey everyone, happy hour is still on, but I have to work late, so sadly I can’t lead the convoy over. So sorry, but I have a raging deadline. I heard the lines can be long, so get there early. I’ll try to swing by later. Regrets! Sarah Bee

Details on movie tickets: I purchased 6 extra tix at the staff discount rate of $12 per ticket. First ones to reply to this thread RSVPing will have dibs on these tix. On Sunday, please have exact change for your ticket. For everyone else, I would recommend buying your tix online since this will likely be a sold out showing. You can select the buy tix option by going to the website http://si.edu/Imax/movie/1325. Make sure you select the 5:15pm showing at Lockheed IMAX theater. If there is overwhelming response to this thread by 5pm, I will try to run over to the box office today and see if I can get some more discount tix. Thanks!!!!!!

You may already know this, but there’s an aviation museum in College Park (not too far from the bike trail) if you wanted to buzz that during the ride also.

I’ll try to join if just for a little while. My nephew had the audacity to get birthed 14 years ago and have his reminder party this Sunday evening ;)

    Spoiler alert!

Instead you can join the Bicycle Fun Club Ride on Sunday, March 5th as we tour several aviation related sites culminating with a viewing of the movie “Top Gun” in IMAX at the Smithsonian in DC. Route is approximately 28 miles in length beginning in Greenbelt, MD and ending at the Smithsonian’s DC Air & Space Museum.

Route and times will be posted shortly and also updated here along with details on ticket purchases.

The Bicycle Fun Club is also proudly welcoming Sarah Bee as an official co-conspirator, even though she was born in North Dakota.

Hey everyone, top gun is confirmed for air & space on the mall this Sunday March 5 at 5:15 showtime. Was thinking about starting the fun ride around 2pm starting at the Washington monument. Judd & Josephine – do you guys want to collaborate on a route with me since you two are the founding members of BFC?

Are you getting amped for the President’s Day Ride yet? The date and time have been set.

    Date: Monday, February 20th
Time: Gather starting at 10:30 and ride at 11:00
    Place: Starbucks at 1501 17th St N – https://goo.gl/maps/Ex7BZDauwfw

How is Rosslyn tied to the resignation of a U.S. President? You’ll find out at our first stop!

I loved the ride and every second of it- sorry I had to bail out early. Re: bathroom breaks etc. for a ride in downtown D.C., feel free to rely/ask the BAFS network for suggested/proposed bathroom/snack stop break. With some advance planning I could have stuff staged at a few museums/my office to help facilitate. I know I’m not the only one happy to help… Overall amazing ride & thanks so much for all your work & for the lovely Komkrebi sweeper. Vote next ride is that we strap a mini broom to her handlebars :)

@Judd- so word on the street is that top gun, possibly the best movie ever made, will be playing in digtital awesomeness on IMAX at air & space. I have a limited # of staff discount tix, but I would love to do a BFC ride that has some airline fun- DCA, AF memorial, etc. that ends in possibly the best Navy recruitment film ever made. If I can confirm the film time can we/you plan an epic airplane themed BFC ride? Let me know… am happy to bring out some “some stops” depending on level of interest.
