I would not hold your breath. The sense I’ve gotten over the years is that the bike locker program is monumentally mismanaged (or–to be fair–not managed at all). Given how long it has taken them to build the Bike ‘n Ride station at EFC (original expected completion date: December 2015; still under construction), it may be years before any of this happens.

This video also shows the rather optimistic schedule they had back in 2012:

But…. the College Park bike jail is oh so nice!!!!! I am a big fan. I’m sure EFC’s will be just as nice and over engineered when they finally complete it.

Calvinball contents have been replaced and it has crossed state lines into MD. Find it in a planter near the blue bear in college park.1353f367eeb563498978f3ace6506b64.jpgbcd21de30102ffced218f09687f1b9df.jpg

Deciding whether to commute with his horse, truck, or bike that morning, Chuck pondered the horsepower to kilowatt conversion of each option before opting on the easiest to park- the bike!

You- ninja traveling east on the WOD in the dark with no lights. Thanks to your deep dish pizza rims, I heard you coming long before you nearly clipped me in my lane, passing a family on your side of the trail. I wasn’t so much offended by your skin suit and aero sperm helmet as I was by your absolute lack of consideration for anyone else last night. You couldn’t even be bothered put you hands on your handlebars from your time trial arm rests as you clipped by going a cool 25 mph in the dark. My only consolation is that knowing for the next few weeks, no one will have to deal with you until real spring. Enjoy your indoor trainer in the meantime!

Carol tried really hard to find it tonight – we’ve been texting back and forth and either Steve M. got it or some lowlife stole a bunch of handmade friendship bracelets 😡

I propose 2 points for Carol for going above and beyond her normal routine. She was glad to get some extra miles for her team.

Sszibler- I have been enjoying your crazy Calvinball antics, Siber-Hobbes side plots, obscure clues, and off the wall hiding places so much. Sir, if a person could embody a Calvinball, it would be you!

That team name is totally up for grabs. I just need royalties. 10¢ per use.

Feel better, Bill. I’ll happily ride some extra miles with Nancy this week to help out Team 19. Snow Collusion! Obliteration is only fun when everyone is happy, healthy, and conveniently forgets to remind competitors to turn their Strava on.

    Gwen

Gwen was hazy yellow, had flowery aromas, maybe hibiscus, tropical fruit. The taste was nicely tart, with the advertised apple and papaya notes. The mouthfeel was light and nicely “petillant” (as we discussed). All in all a nice mead.

This was the first time I had visited a meadery (sorry Rumi, the place we visited in Richmond was a cidery, I misremembered). It was a lovely cozy place (even if Route 1 is not particularly cozy) Ken was happy to explain about the meads. The place is VERY bike friendly, and we should go there and support it.

Today’s ride led by Jessica was lovely – I don’t think I had ever ridden up the ART in winter, and I had not been to Lake Artemisia.

This was a fabulous ride. Wonderful riding with you today Ken and Team 9. I also cannot say enough wonderful things about Maryland Meadworks. I had the Bitter Bee, which was delicious. They also have growlers to go. I packed up the Gwen Tart and it made it the entire ride back to Falls Church no problem. Everyone should check this place out. 202ce5931d341056cb2f5b970ee500b5.jpg5fcc3e52edaf3f64310ed1f51f22326a.jpg

You can believe 1 of 2 things regarding why most of my pics came out bad today on Handlebars DC’s DC Alleyway ride:

    1. Wild animals photobombed my pics, throwing off the focus, OR
    2. I suck.

    I present the evidence:

Embarassingly, most of my pictures from today came out bad. I used a manual focus only Samyang lens (which I rarely use) on my Sony a6500, and most of them came out blurry even though I was using focus peaking with focus magnifier. None of the pictures were sharp; most were downright blurry.

At lunch I switched to a different manual focus only Mitakon lens which had better results, but I didn’t take many pics with it.

Sorry to those that expected pics from me today. I saw some of Boomer’s and HandlebarsDC’s pix, and those were nice. Maybe I’ll just stick to using my iPhone to take pix. At least I don’t have to wait to be disappointed :D

If I salvage any, I’ll update this post with a link, but it’ll be tomorrow. I’m tired.

That giraffe is a frequenter of the Rapha store in Georgetown. I bet he was looking for extra long neck gaiters in hot pink again…
