Hi Wintertime Riders,
The Freezing Saddles closing celebration and prize ceremony is just two weeks away. Please join us for what promises to be a funny, tasty, and festive evening.
Date: Wednesday, 27 March 2019 from 6 pm onwards. The prize ceremony will start at about 7 pm.
Location: Bier Baron Tavern, located at 1523 22nd St NW, Washington, DC (between P and Q Streets on the east side of the street)…this is near Dupont Circle and Foggy Bottom in DC.
Cover charge (suggested cash donation): $10 per person…all of this will cover food… soft pretzels, quesadillas, and falafel sandwiches. We have extra cash from January so there should be a lot more food this time.
Bike Parking: Bring a U-lock and any other locks you’ve got, ‘cause we will be parking our bikes on the street. Do not park INSIDE the neighbor’s garden – please keep your bicycle on the outer part of the railing if you lock up to any private enclosures.
Please join us on Wednesday March 27th! RSVP here.
Thanks,
w&wCynthia- I am happy to run by party city and pick up some green decorations after St. Patrick’s Day- just let me know what you need!

With apologies for the short notice, “the gubment” decided I need to leave for Brazil ASAP. Please join me for a drinks and “see-you-laters” tomorrow evening!
Where: Quarterdeck – 1200 Fort Myer Dr, Arlington, VA 22209 (Basically ride to the Marine Corps Memorial/Iwo Jima and you’re almost there.)
When: Tuesday, March 12, 5ish-7ish
Why:- After an 11-month holding-pattern, Kitty is taking off!
- She’s trying to execute an international move in double time and needs a hug and a mug. Q.Q)
- Despite her better efforts to NOT set roots, you all integrated her into a community of friends and now she’s sad to go.
- BAFS Points (Miles, beer… are hushpuppies dumplings or doggies?)
How: By any means necessary. 😎
I hope to see some of you there! Swing by on your way home or make the trip and enjoy the weather!
I plan to be there, kitty! Sad you are leaving your nova bike family, but wishing you epic adventures and corgis in your next step!

ParticipantNew Event: Hains Point Loop(s) and Free Performance of the Shanghai Quartet at the Freer Sackler Gallery – Thursday March 7th
https://www.freersackler.si.edu/events-overview/all-events/#/?i=1
When: March 7th, 2019. Meet at 6pm in front of the Hirshhorn (Jefferson Ave side). We will do loops around Hains Point and then ETA in front of the Freer Sackler for 7pm.
Performance starts at 7:30pm.
Cost: If you want to pick your seats in advance, cost is $6 at the link above. Or you can just show up for free.
There are bike racks in front of the museum and I would recommend a sturdy bike lock.
Let me know if you’re interested and if you want to meet up for just the ride, just the show, or both.
