My wife got to the 14-th street bridge right before they closed it around 8:00 this morning. I rode across the Memorial Bridge and down Ohio. I checked the stairs at the 14-th street bridge and they were blocked off with tape and some of that orange webbed fencing. I think it’s closed for the week. Enjoy today and tomorrow — what appear to be the last two days of warm weather for a while. Hopefully not a long while.

They had it re-opened when I road home after 5PM – shiny new tar at the top of the stairs. I think they’ll only close it when they’re working in the top of the stairs area. Looking at what they’ve done so far, I would expect only one or two more closings.

Does anyone know how we go about getting the lights fixed on the baseball field side of the pedestrian bridge? There are a lot of lights out, but this one in particular is problematic. If you’re heading west bound on the detour, you have a fairly sharp right turn onto the pedestrian bridge and the light at that corner is out, effectively making it a blind corner at night. The trail is sparsely populated at night now that it’s cold, but if we get some nice weather, who knows.

The light pole in question doesn’t seem to have one of those ID tags on it.It has some weathered ‘caution tape’ where I would expect the ID tag to be.
