I’m planning on using the W&OD out to West Falls Church tonight – think it’ll be melted enough by then for smooth tires?
Thanks for the help W&OD riders!!
Just traveled the W&OD from Reston to Falls Church and it’s almost all clear. One slushy spot between Cedar and Gallows. About 95% of the trail is DRY, with patches of wet areas, still attempting to dry. Those few patches may turn to black ice if the conditions are right. Amazing how quickly the ice melted and the trail dried.

Did I pass you this morning? Not many cyclist on the trails – I was riding east on the WOD from Vienna on a black & blue Felt CX. I think I just figured out who Lena is – on a MTB, think i saw her riding west on shreve road to avoid the icy WOD this morning?
Unfortunately, that mountain biker on the road was not me. I only wish I had enough sense to ride the mountain bike this morning. To add salt to the wound, I didn’t have enough sense to get on the road until Virginia Ave! If you should see an orange Gunnar moseying down the trail, that’s me. When I see you out on the trails, I’ll be sure to say hi!

ParticipantFinally made it into work. Was really slow going – took the W&OD (mostly) from Falls Church to Reston. Trail was a mess. What should have been a 45 minute commute was 2 hours. Thankfully I had two awesome people show me some alternate routes via road to bypass some of the trail. Hoping it clears up at least a little for the ride home.

ParticipantGreat idea! I’m in Falls Church, so count me in until then.

ParticipantDidn’t have any from Falls Church > Reston. (W&OD)

ParticipantMakes you wonder what he was thinking.
I like the cheapo blinkie idea, handing them out to cyclists and runners alike. Ran across 4 ninja runners this morning…the fog made it more difficult than usual to spot them.
