I stopped logging a while ago, but did go back and enter some miles today. I was interested in looking to see what the leaders had done, only to find out that the #1 leader has been disqualified because he doesn’t have fancy GPS gear.
In what sense is he disqualified? He’s still at the top of the leaderboard. I enter my mies manually, but I have GPS tracks of all my rides.

That my guess too–it’s a cumbersome interface. A bit shoddy for a nationwide contest on this scale.
Most of the problems are user error.

What I see for the full period:
Kathy Lewis is 34, Megan Jones 37. There are four women ahead of them in the 20s (myself included).
Very strange, and also a bit demoralizing — if everyone is seeing something different, how are we to know where we stand?

If they look in the same place, they will see the same thing. Some people confuse local(state) and community leaderboards. Also many don’t realize they need to change the period shown from the current month to entire period to see the leaderboard for the entire period.

ParticipantI’m glad I could help. Fun, unique experience, and we made short work of it.

My bike weighs ~17 lbs… I like it that way soooo much better than the 24lb steel bike I used to ride. The agility difference is huge. i simply can’t imagine strapping extra weight on just to carry “stuff,” particularly on a multi-hour commute. Obviously, there are two schools of thought- utilitarian vs sporty. For me, the added maintenance and limited utility of riding a high end, light bike on a commute are far out-weighed by the fun (which is what it’s about- if I were to “suck it up” I’d just drive).
Hire a guy to hand you up a musette.

ParticipantOh, I was just whining about the point total. I knew no one would know the answer. It doesn’t matter, it’s the difference between 15 and 17th place, haha.

You probably didn’t mean that to sound as abrasive as it came across.
The point total issue is a known bug that Endomondo is not able to fix. I believe the issue is referenced in a previous post in this thread.
Harden up, Ironman!
I don’t believe this issue has been mentioned in the thread. All the riders on your team are in the WASHINGTON-ARLINGTON-ALEXANDRIA, DC-VA-MD-WV community. All of your team’s points are accounted for in the community team leaderboard. I think the problems mentioned in the thread were due to misunderstanding about how the points are totaled in the LOCAL leaderboard which includes only people from your state (local means state). If you click on communities > your community > teams you’ll see the total points from members of your team who reside in your community. My team has two members in the WASHINGTON-ARLINGTON-ALEXANDRIA, DC-VA-MD-WV community, so we’re not highly placed, but we should be a few places higher than we are, unless I’m misunderstanding something.

ParticipantMy power was out June 30th and it did not come back on for a few days. I lost 73 points because of that but if you were “too tired” to post your 216 mile ride, that’s your fault.
I’m not whining about the lost points.
The top placed rider in Virginia and the top placed rider in Maryland are both on the same team and they both are in the WASHINGTON-ARLINGTON-ALEXANDRIA, DC-VA-MD-WV community. Between them a total of 10,468 points. Why do they only have 8931 on the WASHINGTON-ARLINGTON-ALEXANDRIA, DC-VA-MD-WV team leaderboard?

ParticipantSorry to eat and run, but I didn’t have time to join the group ride.
The banana bread was good! See you next weekend.

I think another reason for so many teams from Wisconsin is that the challenge originated there and just became national this year.
How do you explain that two of the top five teams are from Topeka, Kansas?
Rod Smith
ParticipantYou can enter the miles manually.

Participant…or just follow consular rider’s link.
Certifried, thanks for bumping the K street thread. Looking at it just now, it’s not as interesting as I remembered it being. Haha. I think it was more fun for someone who was following along while it was active. It got kind of long in the tooth and I’m afraid might be kinda boring for someone to wade through it now…

How do you find that in bikeforums.net?
Regional discussions>Northeast. It’s fallen to the third or fourth page, but a click on ‘views’ at the top of the column ‘replies/views’ will bring it back to the top.
