ParticipantI’ve decided not to get hit by cars anymore. Someone told me it was bad for my heath.

ParticipantIn a different area of the forum talking solutions to Custis and Lynn. And one of the solutions is a tunnel. Well, there are LOTS of tunnels in Arlington. LOTS of tunnels that are closed with steel gates blocking them, because while they were bright ideas, they are great security risks. There is one at HB Woodlawn. There is one near 395.
Fortunately this underpass is relatively open and well lit. But the security concerns of places like this is well established – and should be considered when thinking about future bike path solutions. This becomes a more significant problem as the days get shorter, and these spots become darker during commuting hours.

ParticipantYup. Had that. Tends to be newbies and tourists – and in time I think it solves itself. If they do anything but stay to the right, they are gonna get buzzed and brushed. I had joggers around the Jefferson split – some on the left and some on the right – when I said “rule is stay to your right”, they started cursing me. And then another bike buzzed them. And then another… I assume they get the hint after a while.

ParticipantSo Dirt, between the two, the Contour and the GoPro, which do you prefer? Or do you simply prefer not to use them?

ParticipantU sure you dont have a tire rubbing against the frame – or a brake pad rubbing against a rim. Where does the sound come from.

You might think that someone, in their clever design of this bridge over the creek below, would have thought to install a drain somewhere. I stopped and looked for a drain to clear, but did not see one. Last night there were two of these lakes along the Custis.
And YEAH as I was biking home last night, they were closing 495! Twice this week week biking in the deluge, the GW parkway was at a full stop stand still bumper to bumper honk punch scream.
