What characteristics about the Gators are you referring to?

ParticipantThis morning a piece of glass punctured my Roubaix tubeless. Sealant sprayed out but it is not sealing well.

ParticipantHoly mack, I like it. Negative the tire is not changeable nor a standard design. And a negative you are limited to rim brakes.

ParticipantBased on some of the posts in this thread, I am not sure it should be promoted to a sticky. Maybe a better discussion ….. hmm, maybe I am reconsidering this. Highlighting where the discussion went might be important.

Lynskey is having a sale on a frame I lust over, the Urbano or Urbanasky. Basically their Cooper CX with a marketing bent to be a road bike, gravel grinder, commuter. It has “road” bike cable routing. On sale at $1195. Please buy the remaining medium and medium-long sizes so I cannot

Ugh, even more tempting, Lynskey is running a bunch of no reserve auctions on eBay, two for Urbano frames that would fit me. Both end in about one hour and are only up to about $550. So would like to get one to replace my slightly too long top tubed (56.5) too narrow tire clearance Salsa but even for $700, I have more important priorities.

ParticipantBased on the rain now and the forecast, I am going to cancel the ride today.

ParticipantAs someone who 10 years ago got into fisticuffs while riding here in DC, and before that, knocked people down in MTB races on purpose…. this thread makes me guilty, sad and ashamed. If I ever did anything like that, or this, today, I hope I would get arrested. And if I did it in front of my child, I hope the police or a citizen would call child protective services.

ParticipantI put these two worn cx tires on my commuter/gravel bike, replacing horrid riding heavy City type tires. The ride jn this morning was so nice, they feel faster rolling, are way lighter, and ride smoother. Of course they do not have puncture belts nor reflective sidewalls.

I’m talking about plain old sexism against men. It can be just as damaging, not that it really matters – it’s still wrong. Certainly women suffer more sexism overall, and of course we should solve both. But the harm goes both ways – in my example, pressure on men not to care for children hurts women by perpetuating the inverse (that women should take on the bulk of childcare). So yeah, it’s all one big cauldron of sexism stew in the grand scheme of things.
Baiskeli, you are simply nucking futs. If you consider the sexism men experience (judged less trustworthy around children, not being able to watch little league games alone, being depicted as dumb in entertainment media…) as anything compared to what women have to go through (patting your ass is a compliment, feeling obligated to engage in sex in many situations, slut shaming & simultaneous restraint shaming, radically higher sexual assault rates …) you are nucking futs. Even the “anti-feminism/anti-SJW” guys like Milo Yiannopoulos, Gavin Mcinnes and yea even Roosh, would never say it equal.

Imagine if they started ticketing jus by monitoring Strava. My last CCT ride would land me a ticket on the southbound. It would actually have been hard to go only 15 in lots of parts without traffic even at a light pedaling pace. Near the heavy foot traffic in Bethesda I went appropriately slow and delayed several passes although I saw a couple of folks splitting through pedestrians at high speed.
A ban on bikes was implented on trails near LA after the Strava segment speeds were noticed.

I fear some day the same thing could happen with the CCT and other trails here. (BTW, that is a secondary motivation for my flagging all those seents)

ParticipantThis is the cut on my Spec Roub 2BR tire. It was seeping sealant on Saturday. I added one cup Sunday morning before the Rough Roubaix and it sealed up quickly and has not seeped anymore since.

Maybe if we had unlimited enforcement resources, but we don’t. So let’s shift those resources to where there is a greater need and/or threat to life. Not the middle of the gd CCT.
As someone who had their shoulder dislocated by a speeding cyclist on the CCT, I disagree.
