I wonder if he at all understood what you said. I rarely understand what anyone says to me while I am riding. And no I do not wear headphones.

It may be my head shape, but the wind noise drowns out voices enough that I have to always guess.

In plan to ride out there on my 29er to watch, heckle and may bring a screwdriver or motioning appropriate stout. . So glad I do not race cross anymore, however, I am tempted since the weather will finally be appropriate.

Ouchie Raymo! At least you were color coordinated. Good thing you were wearing glasses (which are really cool looking btw). !

I bought those glasses the morning this happened. For years I have not ridden with glasses, but bought those for $9 at Home Depot.

The article referenced above says this “Inflating tires to the maximum pressure recommended by the manufacturer tends to underinflate narrow tires and to overinflate wide tires.” What the?!
    .

I can translate the first part of this. No one should ride tires smaller than 25c. And 25c should be for racers only.

Even the pro elite teams this year moved away from the tradition of 23 and smaller tires.

I think the pressure listed on tires is not the recommended but the recommended highest.

I ran Michelin open pro 2 25c tires for years. Huge 25s. Was so sad when I bought open pro 4 and their 25 are now normal sized. So looking for a good 28c tire. Probably going Schawable

The max psi is 120 and I fill them up to about 118. While I love the flat protection I have learned the hard way that they have very little grip and will tend to slide out on the slightest slipperiness.

I cringed at your high pressure. I really recommend you try lower, like 95. It is a myth that higher pressure reduces rolling resistance, it actually increases it in the real world full of imperfections in road.

My primary commuter. A Japanese made Performance parabola from the early 90’s. Paid $35 for it in the late 90’s at a Penn State police auction. Had canti mounts welded on after the original super long reach calipers wore out. Then powder coated light blue.

You asked him? How? I doubt he was able to hear you. I cannot hear people while on the bike at those speeds, cannot imagine adding the engine noise on as an additional factor.

I will find the detour annoying, but am still impressed with the amount of resources allocated to cycling commuters in this region. Of course I want more, more things that meet my needs at the moment, and so on but am still happy compared to the past here and other places.

Xudeng, first thing do not get discouraged by people like dismal. Yes, things are not good and yes many things people are convinced will do good are really just fancy marketing and are not as good as they make you feel or even not good at all. That does not mean you should not make choices that do benefit things nor find a vocation that does.

My recommendation is bias by my focus, but I suggest agriculture based environmental sciences. I see food and water production and security as the biggest problem we will face in the next 50 years. So some actual job titles:
    agronomist
    crop ecologist
    soil scientist
    agricultural engineer
    agricultural economist
    geographer, environmental geographer
    forester, forest ecologist,

That worked. Not sure you can add more search terms, but if possible I recommend it be done.

Does anyone know how to connect tapatalk to these forums? I have searched on Tapatalk for every thing I can think of and cannot find them. WABA, Washington, Washington Bike, Washington Bicycle, Arlington, Arlington Bike, http://bikearlingtonforum.com/, …. and on and on and cannot find this group listing.
