You’ve mentioned this once or twice, thanks.

But I still refrain from ranting about how cyclists too cowardly to ride on the road or in races still treat fellow users on MUPs.

Should also be a reminder not to speed when operating a vehicle, regardless is car or bike. And the speed limit for bikes on the WOD is 15 MPH

Second hand observation, but yes it sounded like both the pedestrian and cyclist ended up at the ER

Is it uncouth to not use the bike lane/cycletrack if there is one?

Here is my take on this. If you will be going along quicker than 15, t is totally cool to be out in the traffic lanes. I do it often when going northbound on 16th.

I see all vehicles as pretty much this. When I lived in DC, the only reason I kept a car was because of my bike riding needs. That is annoying and ironic isn’t it.

Little-known fact: Pennsylvania Ave. was closed in front of the White House because of the all-powerful street hockey lobby, not because of security concerns.

I have always wondered who those jerks are. They get so indigant towards anyone walking or riding into their play field which encompasses the entire width of the boulevard. How they get away with that leads me to believe they are connected.

This kind of BS situation is precisely the reason that I never, ever, ever want to live in place w/ an HOA.

Good luck finding such a place. Those areas get rarer all the time.

Only one bottle mount on that Engin. That would eliminate it from my point of view. I suspect it is also missing rack and fender mounts. I recommend the Ti disc cross/touring frame from Habanero.

I hope none of you drove down there to ride. That should incur negative points.

Get a dual tone bell. The dual tone makes it much easier for people to know where you are and what direction you are moving.

Did two on the way home in the rain. Did not see a single other rider out there, that’s rare.

I went out on my 29er Monday. Was tough but ok on the paths as long as I stayed away from the footprints. Would have been easier on my cross bike I suspect.

Was happy at noon to see a few other bikes had been out.
