more miles, less climbing and you’ll be there! 10 laps at HP each day should do it!
My goal is to focus on climbing instead of miles. Something I have been shying away from the last few years.

ParticipantI am both so happy and depressed seeing the Individual Distance, Elevation, Speed chart again. I suspect my hopes to be an outlier is out unless I stalk Pete Beers.

No it’s not possible. I thought it was a little closer. 51 miles. Experience tells me it’s best to allow for ten miles per hour average speed. It sounds slow, it is slow but stuff happens. That means we should leave at 10:30. The ride home may take 5 hours. I’m having a little knee pain and second thoughts about this ride.
As much as I want to go to this memorial ride, it is just not in the cards. Still doing my plan of the C&O but starting from the Chain Bridge earlier at 8:00

I’m trying to get some riders to go with me to Baltimore for Paul Palermo Memorial Ride. I think if we leave from Hains Point at 11:30 we can get to Bishop Square Park by 3:30 (45 miles). If you want to come along but need more time, we can leave earlier. The ride back will be in the dark so bring lights.
I just saw the postings about that ride and was thinking of going. Is it really possible to get there leaving at 11:30? Also what sort of time do you think we’ll get home? Only have about 3 hours of headlights.

ParticipantThe TJ Maxx in Crystal City had this Dahon folding bike for $249.99. I assume it is a good deal but am not sure.

ParticipantShould we drop our 2014 (and maybe 2013) team memberships from Strava?

My starting idea for a route:

My hope for such distance is gone. I messed up my wrist in the Bikenetic CX race and it is still questionable. Still planning an early start and that basic route if anyone is interested.

How do you like those shoes? I’ve been looking at them quite a bit, but haven’t gone about getting any. What is the sizing like? Part of my inaction is that there is nowhere to try them on around these parts.
I liked them and am sad they have gone, regardless, the SM-81 was not the most super winter shoe. They were not very warm compared to my last winter shoe, however, I never got cold toes in this mild-to-me climate. Under 0C for long rides I would run toe warmer packs.
They were also very heavy, only water resistant, and not very tall. I often had water leaking in from the top since they were not tall enough to allow my tights or pants to stay over them. A big problem at times.
I plan to get Mavic Drift shoes next.

Sweet I am so looking forward to getting mono again this year in late Jan and having my riding severely curtailed.

ParticipantI am thinking a more appropriate place and time to meet is under the Chain Bridge on the C&O around 9 AM.

I am looking to do more to justify my title as MORE Fort DuPont Coordinator. Four rides and one work session last year were not enough. The plan is two rides per month and and three work sessions.

I beat this easily on the rides, having them every week over the summer. Failed on having any work/cleanup sessions.
