As a U.S. Taxpayer, unless I am allowed to drive across the White House lawn to cut time off of my commute, it is proof the President is really Heinrich Himmler, John Beoner is Rudolf Hess, and John McHugh is Marshal Ustinov.

Also remember not to consider the classic Secret Service and the Secret Service Police, known as the US Secret Service Uniformed Division, as the same thing. There are a lot of differences and rivalry between those two. Rivalry may be too weak of an adjective, it is full on contempt.

I so want a ticket for “Failure to exceed posted maximum speed”.

There are hinder traffic flow tickets in some jurisdictions which some have argued are that. Usually reserved for those doing 65 in the left most lane on a multilane highway.

Another question to add to the list:
Given the lack of clarity and public awareness of this drastic change, have they considered delaying the implementation until they can think through and communicate clearly all of its implications?

Security and not convenience should be their primary focus. And I say this as someone who just starting using the base as a great time saver and bad route alternative.

    Same principle.

The wealthy do not pay taxes.

I suggest this as the easy alternative to any of the Suitland Road facing cemeteries. Will allow reassembly of the group across from the fire-hall.

    Wow this thread has migrated.

I do think it’s funny that people are getting all bent out of shape because they can’t chase KOMs in some cemetery.

This made me smile and laugh so much I wanted to hug you.

You might want to ask yourself, if the opinion that religious organizations should not have tax exemption status is so unpopular, maybe that has a little something to do with why they do [have tax exemption status]. While I may agree with you, I find it somewhat comforting that the opinions of the masses should have some impact on our policies.

I support removal just about all tax-exempt status for organizations be they religious groups, charities, universities, federal owned lands, think-tanks, state owned lands, the Red Cross, the Smithsonian, the World Bank, Greenpeace, the NRA, Komen for the Cure, IMBA, … I of course can cite outrageous examples (Penn State’s ex-chair being paid 10’s of millions, Reverends in DC driving Bentleys, the head of the Smithsonian using millions to have work done on his house, …) but it is beyond that. This organizations still have an impact on the communities they are in, example a large church increasing car traffic, without contributing to the local govs as a typical business of individual. And please focus on that bolded typical, I know there are many examples of payment programs however know most of them fail to really offset the costs.

I will start attending, can you message me the actual dates? 2nd Tuesday will not be enough for me to figure out when to attend. I’ll also try to get some others from the Census, NOAA, etc to come along.

The signs are terse and clear. This one is from the lower Cedar Hill Gate. The Cedar Hill and Lincoln entrances all hd the same signs. The Washington Memorial entrances had no such signs.

I did not take a photo of the one by the Lincoln Memorial Gate as the Mercedes S Class of the Reverend was sitting there running with the lights on and I was afraid to go near her.

… Hills of Anacostia ride … … may need to change a little. I think exploring some hills at the arboretum could be fun.

I suspect as much. There are a lot of public roads in Anacostia and adjacent parts of Suitland that would be great additions. Some a lot less trafficked than the routes used in HoA currently. Such as these segments:
    https://www.strava.com/segments/8165653
    https://www.strava.com/segments/5962934
    https://www.strava.com/segments/7266838

    https://www.strava.com/segments/6129327
    https://www.strava.com/segments/6061756

Yea the Arboretum is fun, but is not Anacostia nor easily connected to it.

Then it doesn’t matter what mode of transport you use, if you’re using the cemetery as a cut-through, you’re in the wrong on this one.

I agree and plan to stay out of them henceforth. I also just deleted the one segment I had made in the cemetery.

I’m confused. Is it not the minister’s cemetery? If its not the minister’s cemetery, what was the minister doing there? Whose cemetery is it. I mean, if its not the minister’s cemetery, than the solution is easy – go to whoever’s property it is. This is private property? And the owners of the private property have perfect authority to say who can come and who can go. They can say you have to wear funny green hats on their property if they want. So if its not the minister’s, go to whoevers property it is.

But yeah, gotta say, I would not use a cemetery as a cut-through. Were you visiting the cemetery or just riding through it?

I use it on low visibility days to reduce my exposure to the nut jobs that drive on Suitland Road.
