I went to Charlotte, she found the Phoenixball; she told me that She knew what it was, it was a flamingo, so she didn’t have to leave it alone.

So here’s her finding of the Phoenixball Dance (With dog-like creature in the background):

Someone had already consumed her dessert, so she who shall not be named enforced the family rule against only 1 dessert as it was not a sticker day from school.

And, technically, this is Claptrap, reading the rules and regulations:

Couldn’t get a picture of it today, but I saw a repurposed and urbanly-moblie Mobike, lock clipped, and spray painted, riding up K St thru Mount Vernon Square.

Samuel P. Langley was a pioneering astrophysist and aeronotical engineer.
In 1887 he he was elected as the third secretary of the Smithsonian Instituion, and served until his death in 1906.
He pioneered some of the earliest observations of astrophysics while at the Smithsonian.

He is however notoriusly known for his Aerodrome’s failure to achieve lift and subsequent crash into the Potomac river, which were funded by the Army to a tune of $50k (~$1.3m in today’s money). Using a water-cooled 5-cylinder engine making 52.4 horsepower, the Aerodrome was flung off the roof of a houseboat (more like a house on pontoons) by catapult-like launcher, and promptly crashed into the Potomac. His second attempt achieved the same level of success, and with those successes, Langley gave up work on the Aerodrome. While the engine itself was revolutionary for its time, the craft was not structurally sound and was the primary cause of the failures.

Later in 1914, Aviation pioneer Glenn Curtiss worked with the Smithsonian to “reconstruct” Langley’s Aerodrome and flew the aircraft in a number of test flights in Hammondsport, NY.

I’d be wary if I felt a draft. I had a friend name Plugh, and that it was always perinent to answer for the honesty virtue to the gypsy lady as two Mariah’s were better than two Geoffreys. I learned that Trebor was really Robert reversed. I knew that you really needed the satchel to keep the robots from going thru the trap door. I knew that my humans would go comotose in the Nebula, that getting to Watertown required knowing Rumplestiltskin, and Kefka was a real bastard. That the Council of Light was really a cult and the Order of Voln was the real thing, and that Diesel never gave you a free drink.

For some of us, who weren’t riding around on the weekend with the list in hand… it quickly becomes pointless to even follow.

Who remembers 13th and 14th street and the seediness…

The Silver Slipper used to be at 815 13th Street. Which would have been where the alley is.
