Going to be in Arlington for a bike fitting at 4 that day. Hope for good weather and to be able to make it this time.

Can you download .FIT files from a Garmin into Endomondo like you do Strava?

Yes, that’s what I’ve been doing. I forget to clean out my activities folder on the Edge 500 and it takes the sync with Garmin part way too long now, so I just upload a file at a time. I have to do the same thing on Strava as well, so all my activities on both sites are single file uploads.

Your bike commutes can sometimes be as quick as your car commutes, unless you make a wrong turn and end up doing a century on the way home.

Crud, I’m going to miss this, driving to the shore for my Aunt’s 70th celebration. So sad :(

And go for broke and ask for several racks!

If the amount of bikes I saw last saturday for Lululemon’s Cherry Blossom Yoga was any indication of a correlation between yoga and cycling, you should ask for several racks. The park police even had a couple officers watching what looked like around 100 bikes while people participated.

I am curious. What did the cops do if anything when you reported it? Forgive me if you’ve posted on this. I haven’t seen it.

Nothing. Operator took my information (phone number and name), location of the incident, plus the make/model/plate of the car, and race/desc. of the driver. I believe the quote was “We’ll be on the lookout for the car and if it is witnessed operating unsafely they’ll stop him.” No call back, no follow up.

With as angry as the angry young man was at me, Every White car falls into the Be Uber Paranoid mode now, especially around my house.

You: Guy in White Nissan Maxima, whose license plate I have memorized and written down.
Me: Having just topped the hill in my neighborhood, just 1000 feet from my front door

Just wanted to remind you that I did call 911, and report your harassment, making sure to mention to the operator that you said you were in the employ of the police department. You coarse language and volume did nothing to convince me you actually knew the rules of the road, and your admonition for me to Stay On The Sidewalk(tm) was not unexpected. Thanks for being my first, I’ll always remember you.

Highly likely that this is just a crack in the clear coat. You can always have the shop you bought it at check it out. Where exactly is this anyway? That’d make a big difference in diagnosing whether it’s likely a crack forming, or just something like a paint issue too.

This is at the bottom bracket, where the seat tube and down tube meet. Took it into Freshbikes, confirmed it was a cracked frame; the jaggy angles were the give away the mechanic said. So now I do the warranty wait.

Freshbikes has one from a couple of years back (made for the Paris-Roubaix, I think…I can’t remember). It looks goofy as hell with 28s, but I bet it rides like a dream.

Also, I think it’s interesting he isn’t running Di2, which is the norm for Garmin-Sharp. I’m guessing they keep the classics bikes as analog as possible for inclement weather/mud/rough pavement.

Cancellara doesn’t seem to run Di2 for the classics either:

–This is based on Hozn’s data, which only has people that were on teams.

BAFS folks rode 80% of all rides on a Weekday, 20% on the Weekend, though 27% of all mileage was put in on the weekends.
We averaged 64 rides a day during the week, and 41 rides a day on the weekend.
Average ride length on the weekday was 11.39 miles, while it was 16.95 on the weekend.

We climbed up the Virginia Lane hill 471 times, but only completed 41 Arlington Loops. We crossed over the 14th Street Bridge 813 times, and did 608 laps at Hains Point.

589 rides were shorter than 2 miles, which were 13% of all rides. Whether they be sleaze or errands is up to the rider. By comparison (and reminder, all this excludes Dirt and anyone NOT on a team) there were 22 centuries.

Hozn’s got some other things on his site (http://freezing.hozn.net/). Pretty much anyone who commuted on January 23rd rode on the coldest day (http://freezing.hozn.net/explore/riders_by_lowtemp).

Also, riding in the cold probably contributes more to weight loss than riding in the warmth.

Ok, so I’ve got the queries (Thanks a bunch Hozn!) for the Coldest Ride, Weekender, and Weekday Warrior. I think Hozn did the Nooner query. I’ll figure out the Freezing Saddle query later (Most miles ridden while the avg temperature for the ride < 32 F). I’ve done the queries for Most Rides that Ended After Sunset, which could also be turned around to Most Rides that Started Before Sunrise (Again, all built on the back of the hard work of those that have come before me).
