That’s what I call the Granny Weatherwax “Faith” school of rain riding. Ride in whatever and have faith that you’ll be dry someday.
Don’t make Granny come over there with her cane.
Thank God for the cap or my hair would get all mussed up…OneEighth
ParticipantYou know, it’s a shame, but the only thing sticking in my head after the rain gear dissertation is the image of Dirt hunched over his rain pants trying to thread a needle while the cats bat at it.
I just get wet. Wool socks, cycling cap, and coolmax technical shirts from JLRacing take the edge off even in cold weather.

ParticipantIf you are wearing cycling glasses, they should have bayonet temples—those fit pretty easily into the ventilation holes you find in most helmets. Not hard to do one-handed while riding.

ParticipantIt’s still the same.

They also carry a finger version, but that appears to be out of stock at the moment.
I used the thumb version quite a bit when I was still riding (as opposed to “cycling”).OneEighth
ParticipantThanks for refreshing my memory.
Gotta say, I don’t think design changes are needed. That makes it sound as if it is a bigger deal to fix at this point than it actually is. All they need to do is put down enough additional asphalt on either side of the trail from the bridge where it meets the MVT to allow easier right hand turns from both the trail and the MVT. It really is that simple.OneEighth
ParticipantDidn’t someone on the forum indicate a while back that there was also some commitment to widen the junction between the MVT and the trail leading to the 14th Street Bridge? It looks very much like that intersection, which is frankly unsafe, is going to be left as is.

ParticipantYou are forgetting the full moon… Stupidity goes up exponentially when you add that to the rain.

ParticipantRiding the trails late at night without lights is actually pretty neat. Especially if there is a full moon and a clear sky.

ParticipantOh good. In that case, I won’t be hopelessly outclassed.
Did you see the radar set up by Hains Point? Couldn’t resist making a couple of passes this morning. Didn’t hit official Fred Woo-hoo speed but had fun anyway. Must have been a lack of indignation.

I’m predicting this ride will be done at cat6 or cat7 race pace.
(super mellow.)
Yes, but will it still have the comical self-importance, indignation, and bad fashion sense of a cat6/7 at the height of the cat6/7 season?
If my lazy backside is up in time, I may slink out of the house and join in.

ParticipantMy wife picked up a Dolce last year and seems to really like it. We thought it had better attention to detail than the Treks.
As for fit, Dirt’s right, she’ll have to plenty of test riding. Maybe also check with the shops to see whether they will switch out for a shorter stem, shorter cranks, etc. if needed.
Good luck!September 28, 2011 at 1:47 pm in reply to: Crossing Lynn Street and Lee Highway: How Can We Make It Safer for Cyclists and Peds? #930569OneEighth
ParticipantThe late rush hour drivers were especially special this morning at the Lynn Street intersection this morning.
Frankly, they were pretty special everywhere I encountered them on the ride in today. Funny how rain does that around here.
Be careful, folks.OneEighth
ParticipantReport him to MPDC.
If you don’t report inappropriate behavior, management has no opportunity to take corrective action and I am certain that they would much rather deal with it now than wait until an officer with questionable judgement makes a (pardon me) much more serious and news-worthy mistake.
