ParticipantThanks to Pete and all who stopped by the EncoreHat booth at the MABRA Capital Cross Classic today. I’m proud of my son Tony who took first place in his race – I wish I had been there to see him and all you guys going through the mud. Who won the EncoreHat primes?
I’m going to have to limit my outings somewhat till my leg mends, but if there are any indoor events that you racer and commuter folks are having in December or January and would like to have me set up a table for hat sales, please let me know.
Like Pete and Greenbelt can tell you, these hats make a wonderful gift to youself or your other biking friends.
Cheers to all,

ParticipantLife has a strange way of changing our plans for us…… On Monday afternoon, I fell down and broke my leg. I’ve had some great surgery and am out of the hospital, but will not be able to attend the MABRA Capital Classic myself on Sunday to meet all of you. Husband Oz and racer son Tony will be there manning the EncoreHat booth from 9 to 2-ish. Please check out all the great hats I made before I took a dive! Cheers,

ParticipantHey Everyone: Check out the first message for additional dates and times where I’ll have EncoreHats for sale.
Looking for hats for an entire team, in coordinating colors? Send me a message and we can talk about possibilities.Greenbelt: Loved the video and the munching cookie! My husband is eager to try that part of your route on the new stretch of the trail in the Bladensburg Waterfront Park, past the caboose which totally avoids going on 450. We were there for the ribbon cutting ceremony a couple of weeks ago, but he didn’t realize that it made a better link to get to Cheverly. Oz says your video is great, but while you’re whizzing along, it all looks flat, and Cheverly isn’t, for sure!!!

I can’t make it out to the event, but I ordered a hat from your on-line store.
Thanks!!! Totally awesome idea and FLAWLESS execution.
Dirt – Thanks for your purchase – Your package is on it’s way….
And just to let everyone know…there are only a dozen or so hats shown online, but I’ll have over 200 to choose from on Saturday.
It’s a beautiful weekend for fall foliage – come on out to the park, enjoy the hiking paths, other games and demonstrations, and be sure to stop in the Nature Center to find your perfect Encore Hat. There is an EncoreHat out there with YOUR name on it!

ParticipantFrom Bladensburg Waterfront Park: Exit the park and turn right onto Rt 450. Cross under the train overpass and go about 0.1 mi turning right onto 48th St. After about 0.2 mi bear left onto Quincy St. Stay on Quincy St and then turn right on 55th Ave. After about 200 feet turn left onto Newton St. After about 0.5 mi turn left onto 58th Place. After 100 feet turn right on Rt 202. Cross under BW Parkway underpass and turn right onto Cheverly Ave. After 0.5 mi turn left onto Forest Rd. the community center is 6401 Forest Rd on the right.
It sounds way more complicated than it is! My husband Oz takes this route every day on his way up to Lake Artemesia from Cheverly. There are just 2 very brief sections on 450 and 202. The rest is very quiet residential. And although Cheverly doesn’t have dedicated bike lanes, the 25 mph speed limit is strictly enforced, making biking on the Avenue fairly safe.
There is a new piece of bike trail opening, but to access it, you have to ride further on Kenilworth. And another piece is being developed from the back edge of Cheverly by the Hospital to cut through the Industrial Park and over to Kenilworth, but that is a thing of the future…….
Come on down! I look forward to seeing you at the Holiday Market.
