The Bike Challenge is changing some of my riding habits. Prior to this, all my rides were commutes or workouts. Now I take my bike out for leisurely rides on off days to get the 20 points. I never used to do that. It’s been fun. Next thing you know I’ll be running errands on my bike instead of my car!! :)

It’s been really bad on the MV Trail this year. I chalk it up to more people riding these days (hence more inexperienced cyclists out there). Some of them are consistently bad….to the point of being predictable (which is good I guess because I can normally tell when they’re about to do something stupid). I just try to give them space. Sometimes that doesn’t even help…..

I saw a younger guy at Gravelly Point a few Friday mornings ago. He didn’t look like a commuter, but coulda been. First time I saw him he was standing on his top tube riding his bike like a surf board. I turned around the parking lot and when I came back he was riding a wheelie.

That would be soooooooo awesome! We were talking about the number of vacant buildings in Crystal City. I might buy one of those, build a ramp and switchbacks between floors and get some vert there. Just detour the MVT into one end of the building and then out the other end. Maybe I’ll buy more than one. :D

Oh yeah!! I’d hit this climb at the end of my commute. I’d like to start my afternoon commute from the top. Maybe put a locker room and showers up there.
