Sleaze ride = complete. 3 miles, 23 points, and pure enjoyment with a nice easy ride in the dark around my neighborhood.

so, you’re saying drug testing only for the podium finishers?

Random testing. Plus once you commit to the race, you need to report your whereabouts on the forum at all times.

I’ve been happy with it. Fairly cool & light, definitely want to look for a sale.

This suggestion brings you closer to the bridge, albeit ever so slightly since Belle Haven is barely a mile from the bridge (if that). On weekdays, I would be very surprised if they enforced time limits. The PP will enforce speeding (it goes from 25mph to 40mph in a short stretch), but I haven’t heard of parking. Plus if you have a bike rack on the back of the car then I would be highly surprised if they did anything.

Jones Point is on the list for 3 hour parking also. I agree with Terpfan though. I’d be surprised if they enforce parking time limit if the car isn’t there all day. FWIW, I see more PP at Jones Point than I do Belle Haven.

Very cool!! Great video. Thanks for posting. I recognized many spots, but was surprised at how many I didn’t know. Bonus — they’re website has a .gpx file. I’m adding this ride to my list.

I saw four people crash today on the wood bridge at the bottom of the hill from Mount Vernon Estate — two on my way to Mount Vernon, and two on my way back. All four crashed on the curve just before the bridge ends (going north). I made it through ok, but was taking it easy. Everyone appeared to be ok. I went back to see if I could help and nearly slipped just walking my bike.

To the wounded warrior wearing a West Point t-shirt walking on the south end of the MVT today, thank you for your service and sacrifice. I wanted to stop and thank you in person, but looked like you were having a nice time with your family and I didn’t want to intrude.

I don’t know if this is true, but I heard that dirt bikes were invented so normal people can ride with Dirt off-road.

I mostly nod and smile. I also kinda raise my fingers off the handlebar in a half wave sort of thing. I have no idea if anyone notices.

I was a bad teammate last week. Between work, weather and being sick, I didn’t ride for 8 days (I had some kind of summer cold that felt like the flu). I dropped around 2,500 spots in the GC. I’m clawing my way back though….made up probably 1,000 spots so far. Tonight was a sleaze ride but needed the points. :)

Those wooden bridges are nasty. I went down hard on one of the small MVT bridges going north down the hill past Morningside. I was doing around 20 mph and hit the bridge on a slight angle. My bike went out from under me. I landed on my shoulder and head. Ruined a perfectly good helmet. :) I went to the doctor afterwards because I thought I broke my wrist also. He said that most of his bike crash patients are due to those slick bridges.

I will do a mini-rollup of the top 10 teams nationally about once a week. If there is a statistic that excites you, please let me know.

I like the points per member stat with the huge variation in team sizes this year.
