And, I hope when folks are getting their tickets they are either donating to Phoenix Bikes or saving up so you can give at the door (and buy a bunch of raffle tix at the event!)

So, when can I expect the diamonds to start coming in the mail? I want my diamonds and I want them now!

All I know is my Garmin better work doing the Diamond Derby on Saturday so I can get some killer awesome miles in. (I’ll be riding as part of Team “Sticky Rack VC” an all ladies crew…)

For those wondering, the Medio Route (77 miles) does not have any gravel. So, last year, I rode it on my road bike that has gears, and stuff, and tires, too. My favorite gear for the ride was my Granny Gear.

Sorry to get all technical on everyone…

Just a reminder – we are meeting on WEDNESDAY, August 7th.

We will be meeting in our regular room in the lobby – Azalea. (It wasn’t originally available, but another meeting cancelled.)

    All are invited!

Dasgeh – THANK YOU for the ‘maters. Were delivered by the Mr. Timothy and much appreciated! (I was unawares of the “stop by” offer so I ended at FB and then rolled home…)

I had so much fun riding with ya’ll. A great group of kids (and Parental Units). Was so amazed seeing the group roll by, and keep rolling by, and rolling by…

I’ll post the pics I got (that were not obscured by schmutz on the lens) later tonight. And, I’m going to edit together some of the rolling video which I should have posted in the next several days…

A hat tip to dasgeh for a fantastic route which led to the discovery of a new tunnel for me. That was awesome!

Looking forward to the ride tomorrow. I’ll be riding “sans kid” but am looking forward to using my “Auntie Meg” skills to get everyone safely around the route. :)

Yeah, but did you have ice poured down the front of your jersey so it landed in your sports bra creating what looked like “double-D”s for the next five minutes?

    I think not.

I did a total of 158 for the day (we rode to the start). Had to stop at rest #7 after the “dizzy and headache” kicked in and wouldn’t go away. The fact that I couldn’t keep the nutrition down was also a bit disconcerting. Rather than pushing to rest #8 and risk being stuck on the side of the road, I stopped when there was a bus. A bus with a/c. (Ironically, my SAG bus rolled in right when Mr. Tim Kelley was leaving the finish and biking home…)

I don’t think I’ve ever dumped that much water on me, or in me, during a ride. It was hot with very little shade. I was fortunate enough to have two excellent people to draft off of the entire time. I have no idea how I ever would have done the ride without them. I basically stayed quiet, stared at their wheels, and pedaled.

    Volunteers were also fantastic.

I’m not ready to say if I’m doing it again next year…

This is the same night as the Potomac Pedalers’ hosted Tour de France HH right? Hmmm…

Rhodeside Grill first (at bottom of hill) and then we go up to Northside Social for a nightcap? (Yes, I ride by BOTH on my way home every day. Yay!)
