We were at the Air Force Memorial. A great vista. Was really hoping it would come around one more time. Made it home in time to watch it land at Dulles. Can’t wait to see it up close.

    We saw those turkeys, too!

Mark went over to take a picture. I don’t think the lady turkeys were impressed with his dance, either…

I have the tri-shorts and I like them. Good enough for a shorter bike ride and the pad dries out pretty quickly and doesn’t suck up half the lake/pool/ocean, etc.

Also, honestly, for those last minute “gotta go” moments, easier to get them off than bibs.

However, on the longer rides (bike only) I love my bibs. There’s no waistband annoyance.

I’m really looking forward to BikeFest. We use a lot of bike facilities in the area that are made possible by WABA’s excellent advocate work. I’ve never been disappointed at any event they put on…

Also, we’ll be attending both races on Saturday and Sunday. Plenty of shady areas to hang out in. Lots of tight corners and fast action at both races. Be sure to watch the women racers…quite impressive! The kids races are beyond adorable.

Both courses are easy to walk around and find various vantage points. And, easy to find places to sit and get refreshments.

Just remember to wear plenty of sunscreen, drink water and wear comfy shoes. And, if you’ve got one, don’t forget your cowbell! You’ll have a great time.

I truly like my backpack in the winter…it keeps me warm and cozy. But, during the summer, it does become more noticeable but not unbearable. (I have been known to carry sneakers, a change of clothes and 3 bottles of wine or a full load from a stop at the grocery store on some commutes home but do appreciate the “lighter” days – especially when it’s 90+ degrees outside.)

I prefer the backpack over a messenger bag. My backpack has an additional strap that closes on the front of my chest so there is less shifting around but even without that strap I like it just fine. Messenger bags just don’t stay put for me.

I have recently considered switching to holding my stuff on the bike, just haven’t taken that plunge, yet. I’m appreciating the input here on this forum.
