ParticipantThe StreetSmart ads are always suspect, but the placement of this one on the Bikeshare station *on the MBT* just made me laugh (to stop from crying) – is this aimed at the runners and walkers on the trail?

Participant2/21/2025 – Traffic Cone (though really they should have something more permanent here to protect the MBT…)

ParticipantQuestion for the handful of people following this: any interest in a (probably small) group ride to hit all of the DC locations on the NPS map? Based on my schedule, I’m thinking maybe Sunday, March 9 with a 10/11AM start in either Georgetown or Alexandria, depending on what seems a better direction to travel. The ride would be ~30 miles from Fort Greble to Battery Kemble, with a complete loop coming in around ~50 miles for those who’d bike the entire way around.

Finally got around to starting another round of test commutes before RTO (so I can more easily knock off these EOTR forts)

Participant2/6 – Flowers (found alongside a house on Park Place near Irving)
And with that I now have 5 squares this round, and am just 4 away from bingo in every column/row! (I know that rationally these are all independent events, but I can’t help but think this year is to make up for my uncommonly good luck in last year’s game)

ParticipantEchoing that a VPN is probably a more sustainable solution (especially since whitelisting certain countries here or there seems like a workload nightmare), an incomplete list can be found on the Freezing Saddles website. If you scroll out on the map on the website, you can see where people have recorded rides today. Besides Mexico, it looks like we have someone in the UK, plus of course the Belgium-based der Bierpuncheur. (There’s also someone in Guam, but that’s not out of “country” so should be OK, right?)

ParticipantI expect to be there (currently put it at a 70% chance)

ParticipantIf rollout is 9AM, the first stop (Astro in DC) is ~7 miles into the ride so maybe a 9:40ish arrival at a social-ish pace (in line with Rumi’s planned 9:30ish arrival)?
With a moderate stop and normal ride, I imagine the group will be at Union Market at 10:30… (Ricky’s tracking link that he’ll post tomorrow should be a good help to follow along)
