    Yeah I’d do this instead:
    https://www.strava.com/routes/6952527

or cross memorial and ride straight shot east through the various paths along the mall. I’d still head up to the trail via going by union station instead of cutting west-east through the city

That’s awesome Tim. Thank you. Wish I could tell this morning’s bloody acrobat that it’s already being looked into. No flyby on strava :(

I was kinda confused by lack of a shipping update after that last Oi Bell email blast so I wrote their help – turns out those of us who ordered one back whenever we were talking about it a few months ago or whatever, were not part of the original shipment, which went out only to the kickstarters. Our shipment is expected to go out 3 weeks from now or so…

Pay no attention to the piece of cardboard that looks like it’s covered in pigeon poo… The cats surprisingly stayed away. They were too busy knocking over one of the other bikes in the living room.

Reading this has caused me to invent a bike frame/scratch post/cat condo. somebody call Jackson Galaxy

Getting to and crossing memorial bridge clearly sucks, much sympathy. I did it for 3 years before moving south of the pentagon row area and giving up on it this past winter when the 110 sidewalks became a series of 3ft ice/dirt wall moguls and the bridge was closed off so they could install 4 inch tall curbs over a random number of the deteriorating sidewalk joints. I used to avoid the 14th st bridge because of how narrow it feels but I’ve never had a problem or scary moment on it with or without tourists this past year. The LBJ Grove route past the Marina is pretty good most times and it cuts off a few of the black diamond road crossings.

Amazon would gladly pay for the return shipping and will probably throw you a large thank you discount on a future purchase for returning it to them, and you wouldn’t even have to continue committing a misdemeanor larceny!

Bike lane? What bike lane? It’s often so blocked it forces the two lane road into a one lane road.

Does this dumbass guy going the wrong way count as a block? aheee

This is awesome. The view switching back and forth every picture between the two streets is starting to give me a headache tho so I’m gonna stop.

I have never met anyone who switched to clipless, got used to it, and then went back.

Well you know one person who did that: me! I went back to and much prefer using flat pedals because of several close calls I had due to being clipped in, and the versatility of footwear i can use without having to go buy tons more specialized duplicates of sandals, sneakers, and boots.

I think id only use clipless on one of my bikes again if I were to start racing, climbing big mountains, or singletrack downhill for easier hopping over obstacles.

All driveways and even ramps onto sidewalks always seem to have a “lip”. I have to go over one every time I enter my apartment building’s driveway and find it infuriating. Can the civil engineers among us explain why they exist? Are they really necessary? Why can’t they just smooth out the concrete and/or asphalt so that the transition is smooth?

And for the record, I think Arlington County should smooth out the “lip” at the entrance to the Crystal City tunnel from Crystal Drive. It is dangerous.

My guess is that if the curb cut isn’t prefabricated it is usually poured and positioned prior to the final finishing of the road surface it joins, and if the grade and camber of the final road surface don’t happen to meet up perfectly with the other stuff there’s not much that can be done at that point. Same problem with manholes etc.
