3/7/21 Girl Scout cookie

I contacted my local Girl Scout cookie resource and scored a box of thin mints, probably my personal favorites. Hopped on the bike, picked up the cookies, met KbikeVA, rode to the art ride. We had a lovely time cruising Reston art, followed by socially-distance tacos at tacos zocalo. Tacos and thin mints is a real party! Please note box on my shoulder. (Sounds like a John Denver tune)

So I grabbed my bike, and biked to the bridge then walked the bike to the stream bed under the bridge to visit the trolls. I had to take a pic of this one because the other was smiling and showing his butt. Thought he was too happy to be a monster.

3/2/21-Little free library

So in the woods of Reston is an elaborate path system with twists and turns and ways to get totally lost. The infamous Glade is notorious for winding along the stream and not letting you back to the road. Along side one of these lonely paths is a separate wooded path that led to a fairy house and a little free library. This library has lights, the fairy house had dragons on the roof and little doors that you could open. It was a magical world with a blue bench to rest your weary bones while you were deciding on which book to swap. A great start to my day.

2/27 Black & White

I found the button! I can make the picture black and white! I didn’t hurt myself and as an added bonus the words appeared on the side of the building! Good living & I got my 1000 feet of climbing.

2/25/21 – Duck (likeness of animal or the word)

Ducks, easy peezy so many lakes in Reston easy, easy, not. Each lake I went to was empty of ducks and geese and everything. I did find a white thing that may have been a duck, or may have been a seagull, but so far in the distance it would’ve been an undramatic picture. At lunch there was the suggestion that frying pan park had ducks. The quest for a two for a park and a pic was very intriguing so I went for it. Not only did I find a duck but a duck with a Roman bath.

Kirk’s Canal

So you are lazing down the mount vernon trail and remember you needed a hot dog special at Costco. Over the parkway, down Alexandria Road, left on Paul Springs, left on Bainbridge, right on Colonial woods to Kirk Park thru the park and make your way to Costco Route 1 for that delicious kosher dog.

Returned from the Manassas LOVE ride and rode to the birdhouse forest before flute tooting. I didn’t even realize I also capturing the mosaic wall in the distance. What a glorious day, think it’s the sun?
