Dude on the e-assist fat bike (like, obese. Those wheels have to be at least six inches wide): that thing must weigh a ton – wouldn’t it be just as easy to ride a traditional muscle-powered skinny-wheeled bike?
You don’t know what sort of mobility issues this person may be dealing with. Or he may have a really long commute that is made easier with that bike.
I feel like there is a TON of judgment and righteous indignation on this thread (which I know is my favorite emotion on my bike). But I try to remember I don’t know what pain and challenge other people are dealing with, and the world is a better place if we remember that we’re all doing the best we can in the moment.

ParticipantI’m begging off . The caboose is 14 miles from me, and I’m only up for about a 30 mile ride when it’s warmer. I’m embracing my Wimpiness .’-)

ParticipantWhatever angle that allows me to get the bike, flag and me all in the photo. I’m just dancing to the tune that others set, yo.

I’m pretty sure there are no extra points for posting your picture upside down or sideways, but if so, I can try it, too.
Or maybe there should be a penalty.
If you’ve got a tutorial to ensure the photos load right way up, please share. Because these photos look upright on my phone but get twisted when entering the vortex that is the Bike Arlington forum

ParticipantSo is there a limit to the number of posts a group can take? I know that the individual limit is 4, but Team Fun is dominating so much it makes it no fun (UCWIDT) for the rest of us

ParticipantHey all, I’m getting kind of excited about the capture the flag side bet. The next round ends on Wednesday and I live just off mass Ave (NZ embassy less than a mile away). Is anyone available Wednesday afternoon or evening so we can steal a few flags and maybe gain a few points?

ParticipantHey Team 13,
Happy to join the FS Challenge. This is my first year on FS and was inspired to join by the Women & Bicycles group. I work from home in DC but use my bike to attend meetings and generally do errand running. I do the occasional long ride but I’ll be challenged if the temperatures continue to stay where they are now! I will likely not have a lot of miles but my strategy is to ride often rather than far.In terms of team name, I’m thinking that we can either work the luck angle or the prime number angle, but that’s as much as I can offer right now. When do we need to finalize the name?
