ParticipantAre you referring to the sign described at https://www.hmdb.org/m.asp?m=93158, or was there an older sign?

This is my bike at Grace Murray Hopper park in Arlington. Grace Murray Hopper was a mathematician, computer scientist, and naval officer. She helped develop COBOL, one of the first standardized computer languages; may have coined the term “bug” to describe a computer malfunction after a moth got trapped in a machine she was working on; and was named the first computer science “Man of the Year” in 1969 by the Data Processing Management Association. She was also a longtime resident of Arlington’s River House, where there is now a park named after her, and she was buried in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. ParticipantI volunteered at the FOMVT trash pickup at Gravelly Point today.

My personal haul included a pizza box, two glass bottles, a toy jet, three facemasks, too many napkins to count, and enough fiddly little bits of styrofoam that I might go Hulk on the next styrofoam container I see.

ParticipantThanks to everyone who came out! It was good to see old friends — including some I hadn’t seen in a while, like wheels & wings — and meet new ones. Special thanks to caseykane50 for sweeping.

Here’s my bike by the Queen St. spite house in Alexandria. The house was built in 1830 and is just 7 feet wide.

ParticipantWhat about Annapolis? It’s a decent ride and a nice destination. Plus, if you can get familial permission to take the MARC train, there’s the option of riding the B&A and BWI trails to BWI, then taking the MARC back to Union Station.
