I don’t post very often because I just joined, so I imagine that I will avoid the criticism above. Anyhow, I rode to work this morning on my cyclocross bike and although all the trails are messy, it was a bunch of fun. Potomac Ave and Crystal City were all melted with a salt/sand/slush mixture that wasn’t too pleasant, however once on the GW Parkway side of the Crystal City Access Tunnel it was an ice base with either hard pack or about 2 inches of loose snow. A few snow banks around Roaches Run and very few bare ice spots (this was around 0930 this morning). The hardest part was as mentioned above on the 14th street bridge. All the road slush appears to have ended up on the path and it’s comparable to riding in sand with an ice base. So not the easiest.
