Thanks for the responses! Biking back home seems much more convenient than trying to figure out buses, so I’ll look out for Rockford and the purple sparkle pony, Boomer, and maybe Pete if he and Boomer are friends again :) I’ll be on a blue hybrid.

I’m also thinking about biking from Falls Church to the happy hour, and I was just wondering if anyone had advice for going back there afterward. I’m a newbie and haven’t really done any night riding except for a sleaze ride on quiet residential streets :). I’m probably too slow to join a return convoy if there is one, is it safe to take the w&od trail after dark on my own if I have a reflective jacket and light? Or do you recommend I find an alternative way to get home? Thanks for any help!

For my second beerneuring entry, I enjoyed a Red Ale from Rock Bottom – Ballston this evening, along with some pretzels and wings as you can see :) The red ale was tasty and balanced, not too hoppy for me

I know it’s a little late in the competition to begin beerneuring with only 9 days left, but better late than never! :)

Mad Fox – Kölsch. Light and refreshing

This sounds amazing! I just joined the ride on facebook, I hope that’s ok – is it open to everyone participating in Freezing Saddles or only the more advanced riders? I’m new to the forum/freezing saddles/biking as a hobby in general :), but would love to join for one or two stops (I’m pretty slow and definitely wouldn’t be able to keep up for the whole ride).

Edit: I’ll no longer be able to join, I’m so bummed! Have to head out of town instead and missing the Vasa ride too :( Hope you all have a wonderful ride! If there are any other future group rides that involve stopping for tasty treats, I’m in!

Hi! I’m Kristi, and I submitted a late registration for Freezing Saddles yesterday. It sounds like such a fun competition and a great way to stay active in the winter! Not sure if I’ll make it on a team, but I’ll still try to get out and bike as much as I can and follow along with the competition :)
