megoc42 and I could possibly convince our young’n to do a DC-based #withkid group ride.
If you need help planning, I can tell you how to bike with kids to nearly every brewery in DC.

ParticipantOh, yes, the police always ticket all vehicles illegally parked in bike lanes

But – remember that one day when they did enforce it? (DC Police were very proud of it…it’d be nice if they just followed up.)
Yeah, for 5 hours it was great. That only leaves all the rest of the hours.

ParticipantM and L are both awful. Since i don’t have a commute I don’t frequently ride them at rush hour, and i feel for anyone who has to on a regular basis. At least M is better now than it was a few months ago with half of it closed for construction. I took a lane at rush hour on Bikeshare during that because it was safer than the “bike lane”.
As to why there isn’t enforcement, that’s a mystery to me. A parking enforcement officer just leisurely strolling up and down L or M could write enough tickets to pay his/her salary plus some every day.

ParticipantI’m already missing 8 miles of #withkid because I didn’t stop the Strava ride when they were no longer biking. Remains to be seen whether I bother to split the rides…
Also, excellent use of the hashtag leaderboard generator.

I was a little concerned that the gym at my building would be closed this morning (or would close at noon or something), but thankfully it’s open and will remain accessible to essential employees during the shutdown. A gym closure would’ve made bike commuting during the shutdown a non-starter for me…
Showering is optional if no one is in the office.

ParticipantIf I’m lucky, the kids will sing Katy Perry on the way to school

I don’t want to belabor the point, but requiring the prize to be related to having a child attached to your body or bike is kind of lame. Kidical mass is all about getting kids out on the streets riding their bikes weather attached to a grown-up or independently. I understand that those have been the rules before but I think it’s time for a change.
Remember that all of these pointless prizes are created and maintained by volunteers. Any BAFS participant can sponsor any prize they want. You’re more than welcome to sponsor a prize for riding with kids instead of or in addition to hauling them. Pick a hashtag and I’ll play.

Tried a Facing Future Vol 4, which is supposed to be a NE style IPA. I was hoping for something like a Maine Brewing Company Mo, which is like liquid Christmas tree. Instead I got this, which was fine.January 20, 2018 at 2:11 am in reply to: Missing from Freezing Saddles Strava Club Leaderboard #1082322jrenaut

Sounds like that explains it. I’ve had trouble with my phone starting rides, and knowing where I am, but not recording them right. That ride was the same as others, like this one https://www.strava.com/activities/1361570654 but the phone recorded it as the crow flies. Oh well. At least now I have an answer — thanks!
If you legitimately rode the 0.9 miles to get the bonus, you should be able to edit the ride and re-post. I think if you use most of the ride mapping sites (mapmyride, etc) and make sure you put in a start and end time then export, you should be able to delete that ride and replace it with the exported version and get your 10 points.

ParticipantAlso, my wife has maybe two rides that are eligible, I’ll remind her to add the hashtag.

ParticipantI am thrilled to not only not be running away with this but to not be leading at all.
I think a “ride with kids” prize would be cool, too – as my kids get older we’re trying to shift in that direction. We don’t have e-assist, and me+bike+kids is getting close to 400 pounds.
Also, if they were 1) playing BAFS and 2) legally able to taste beer, my kids would have finished maybe 5th on the #beerneuring leaderboards last year.

Teacher! Teacher! Is this the appropriate thread for for grubbing for points? (Or being chastised with a rules clarification?)
I’m kinda curious if some of my miles don’t count for some reason? I’m Andrew C on the individual leaderboard — in my neighborhood there’s several other riders with 19 days, and the difference with the mileage = difference in points, but apparently not for mine.Did you have a day where you rode less than a mile?
Edit to add: this ride isn’t getting counted, so you are only listed as having ridden 0.1 miles that day. You don’t get the 10 point bonus for the day unless you ride at least a mile.
It lists no elapsed time – did your phone bonk or something?

Can you make a github ticket? Then there’s a tiny chance someone else could do it too. Though, let’s be honest, it’s pretty unlikely.
Hahahahahahhaha.
Yeah, I’ll make a ticket.
