ParticipantI find grocery shopping by bike to be much more pleasant than by car, at least in the city. Trying to get a car into and out of the P St NW Whole Foods is almost definitely one of the lesser known Circles of Hell. But getting a bike in and out? Especially when you use the super secret racks in the downstairs garage to get out of the weather? Not a problem at all.
I find I go to the grocery store more days than not, but because we have so many options, including a Giant four blocks away, it’s not that big a deal.

Internet commerce of some sort. The pictures such as the one @huskerdont discovered of a “naked tush in the air” are captioned with text offering carnal knowledge, and a URL.
The few I’ve gotten didn’t have a URL, which made it all the more puzzling. Maybe they were still working out their spam script and the URL wasn’t getting attached.

This changed at some point. At least for me, Strava displays the rider’s local time.
Maybe they did the run before coming to the States to meet fellow athletes.

They love to run at night, naturally.
That’s probably because Strava displays activity time as your local time. Convert that to time in Moscow and I’ll bet it’s more reasonable. Although running 25 sub-two-minute miles is still not a thing.

ParticipantYeah, it’s getting bad in DC too. Right call, if disappointing. Everyone who can should go for a ride, though, so long as you can do it safely. Snow riding is a blast.

Definitely the right call.
Today should’ve been the last day of Freezing Saddles.
Yes, from now on Freezing Saddles runs until the first post-winter snow or the beginning of the next Freezing Saddles, whichever comes first.

I got two follow requests from women who didn’t seem to be bikers shortly after I joined Strava. Much more pouty lip than helmet hair.
Pouty lips should not and do not disqualify one from being a cyclist.

ParticipantIt’s still not supposed to drop below freezing in DC until JUST before rush hour Thursday morning, and even then not for long. So prepare for the worst, but MY prediction is it’s going to be mostly wet. Of course, the hours of rain before anything that might freeze means no pre-treatment of anything, so keep the studded tires handy.

ParticipantI think it would be reasonable to sub in a player with about her mileage, perhaps from the Friends of BAFS, so the overall standings are fair.
And yes, it’s disgusting that she has to deal with this. I’ve noticed in the last few days I’m occasionally getting porn spammers giving me kudos. I guess eventually all the worst parts about social networks get to every social network.
Anyway, if she gets to a place where she’s comfortable dealing with this as it pertains to BAFS, put her in touch with me and we can maybe work something out so she shows up but isn’t at risk.

Okay, I’ll remove Steve. But do we have any way, for example, to figure out what Hannah’s points were yesterday, and restore them? I hate to see our team penalized because she had to drop out.
If she deleted her Strava account, probably not. Maybe someone has a screen cap from last night?

She has disappeared. She’s not in our club, she’s not in the Friends of BAFS (which presumably means she also left the BAFS2018 group), her name on the Facebook group is no longer a link to a profile. I’ll try her by e-mail.
She may have assumed that, once the contest was over, she could leave the groups, which is not a ridiculous assumption to make. It’s incorrect, but not ridiculous.

ParticipantLooks like she left the Strava group. Get her back in and she’ll go back on the leaderboard.
