The Swedish Embassy flings open their doors, and elevator :) to the area’s great unwashed cycling community!

It is a fun event. Lot’s of unusual bikes to gawk at and lots of cyclists to gawk at too.

Blueberry goo? Ugh. But if you’re into drinking warm syrup, have at it.

    Sounds worse than pickled herring.

I TORE IT UP Friday night with a hot shower and a commuter bike. I officially have a problem.

I heard Old Spice shower gel removes road gunk and adds swagger.

Not riding in it, but I am thinking of going to 3 Stars for a growler for that thing on Sunday.

Awesome, this challenge was a lot of fun. Can’t wait for the next one to start up! Congrats to Team Five for a really strong finish to first!

Driving is the fastest mode, but being a one car (um, minivan) family makes my decision for me.

So, if my bike was on the repair stand then I’d walk or bus to Metro then to a CaBi station. I can’t wait to daisy chain a CaBi trip from home to work.

Just make sure that coconut water is cold. Warm coconut water is something I make my enemies drink. Also, I think Brawndo has something to say about what plants crave.

Pretty much the same as above just add one for some of the numbers.

According the Don Rockwell forum, Dolcezza in Bethesda has what you want.

I could see putting this barometer in the kitchen. I imagine it’ll be pretty easy to ignore the tube side which makes it just another silly dohickey.

I stopped at the bike shop, happily only a few blocks away (The value of having a bike shop or two along your normal commuting route can not be overstated).

What LBS in DC is open at 8am on a weekday? Maybe your bike didn’t like those compromising pictures you posted.

Geez, this guy would be in 9th on the leader board. Gonna save this article for when my kids are old enough to drive.

Wiggling my toes is my quick easy fix for when they start complaining. They don’t get toasty, but they do thaw out a little. I always end up thinking of that scene in Die Hard when John McClane is making fists with his toes.

You: Lady riding down Pennsylvania Ave trying to turn left onto L-Street. You got honked at for not signaling your turn when you were in the straight/left turn lane and the vehicle behind you was going straight. I really wish you had thought about that before yelling at the driver. This will happen to anybody who does this, whether in a car or on a bike.

Me: In a taxi telling the driver to watch out for you because you were not in the proper lane and will probably be swerving in front of us to get to the bike lane shortly. I really wish you had checked over your shoulder or signaled before making those ill-advised lane changes. I’m not in every car around here.

On another note, let’s get some sharrows in the far left turn lane on Pennsylvania so riders like this will have better direction on how to execute this turn safely.

Was the rider waiting awhile at the intersection? Maybe her arm isn’t strong enough to be held up in the air for more than 30 seconds.
