ParticipantTake a look at the Strava heatmap. Any route looks like it’ll mostly be on roads and unfortunately a few 6 lane roads. The few times I’ve ridden that way involved Old Columbia Pike, Randolph Rd, neighborhood streets, some trails and Kemp Mill Rd. Good luck.

Participantmeh, really tough riding on smooth ice or hard packed snow with studded tyres. I saw no IRoDs in that video.

ParticipantMVT Trail from Crystal City to the 14th St Bridge is icy ruts with some bare pavement. So great, if you like walking some sections or have studs or a fat bike. The airport bridge is icy ruts of death. The 14 St Bridge was in great shape except for the usual section at the beginning/end on the VA side.
CCT has been plowed from DC to Bethesda. The DC portion still has some packed snow/thin ice sections, but rideable.

Yeah, I am glad they are looking out for us. That reminds me that I need to start skating during lunch here in the town center.
Anyone wanna play pickup on the C&O on Friday morning? Chain Bridge?

Perfectly fine on wide slicks or exciting to ride on wide slicks?
Perfectly fine on wide slicks. There was only one or two places were there wasn’t bare pavement. And those sections were less than 5 yards in length.

Does anyone know of a snow-clear route from Crystal City to DC?
I know the Boundary Channel route but is the path beside Washington Blvd clear all the way over Memorial Bridge? Or is there another route?
Asking for a friend, thanks.See my post here This morning it was pretty much the same.

How’s the Capital Crescent Trail look these days?
MoCo section to Bethesda clear. DC section patches of thin snow/ice, but most of them are avoidable.
