Hmm, now that I think about it, I may have been riding in the buffer zone and cars were parked in the cycle track!

I rode on what looks like the first section of the bike lane that is marked now between 25th and 24th street. I was all excited, kind of felt like I was the first to ride on it! The feeling was short lived though, because it was only one block and – I’m not making this up – almost got hit by a car turning left.
I usually avoid the left lane because of the left hook, so this will be a big change for me. I really hate the mixing zones, but hopefully when it’s all done it will be easier to navigate.
It did look like the “bike lane” was marked between the traffic lane and parked cars – WTF – I though it was going to eliminate parking. Did they change the design???

Yep, work has begun. L street is all torn up and very very dusty. Wear a dust mask if you ride that street!

We shouldn’t have to deal with these crappy intersections. Build bike lanes on 66 and 495!

Ha! This made me remember the time time I saw a guy carrying three full size car tires on a mountain bike on the custis.

You just can’t win at these crossings – I had the exact opposite happen to me last week. Some dude in a pickup truck yelled at me because I stopped and he wanted me to “hurry up mother f’er”. I took my time crossing that time…

It’s more likely that the nitwits are the ones complaining about cyclists running stop signs. Sure would be ironic if it is cyclists doing the complaining, lol. Even more ironic if its because of complaints from this forum! :-)

Was he hiding? I usually come to a stop, but don’t put my foot down. I also avoid the falls church section of the wod during nice weather. This is yet another reason to avoid it. Jeez we have no freedoms anymore eh?

I finally listed the one that I’m not keeping in this thread in the classifieds section.

I took the giro g10 off of krazygloo’s hands. It’s an awesome helmet, I love it!

Another one this AM… poor little ratty! Same spot too… I’m guessing there is a family that enjoys playing chicken with oncoming cyclists…

Thank you. And no. I continue my trend of never riding anywhere I’d see other forum folks.* Though I’ll be at the Arlington Fun Ride this Saturday! Hopefully I’ll see some of you there.

*Yesterday, I rode Ohio Drive – 395 Bridge – MVT – FMR – W&OD – back to Courthouse. Everyone except for spitter jerk seemed to be on their best behavior, but I don’t think I saw any of you good folks (except some crazy ninja last night who looked suspiciously like Mr. Blacknell ;-)

I’ve waved and said hello to several women in the past couple of months riding ebikes on the custis trail. I wonder if one of them was you? Sad to say, but ELITES probably dislike ebikes. Hope that’s not why you got spit on.

Aww, even they think their drilling is boring. ;)

I saw it this morning, it really is pretty cool looking!

I love riding my bike in the rain. There was more lightning than rain tonight, though which I don’t like!
