ParticipantI pass the International Date Line, going both ways. Do I get more credit, or do I just get YOUNGER? Asking for a friend.

There is a formula that accounts for fractional mileage, so it’s actually a smooth curve (6.5 miles is worth more than 6.3, and that differential is greater than the difference between 8.5 and 8.3, as it should be).
It also counts <1 mile ride days (not enough to qualify for a sleaze), but without the 10-point day bonus. I don't know if these ever happen, though. If someone is playing the game, once they decide to ride they are going to go at least a mile one would think.NO fractional miles. If it weren’t for the need to “round up” how would all my neighbors know that they were living around (and around and around) the corner from a lunatic wearing ski goggles?

Because I still enjoy spotting Freezing Saddles zipper pulls or ankle bands “in the wild,” I’m volunteering again to coordinate the identifier for the 2020 edition of Freezing Saddles.
I’m still planning to stick with the neon green color we’ve used for the past four years, but I’m open to suggestions about what the identifier should be. I’ve listed some options in the poll, and I’d welcome other ideas. Please vote by Sunday, December 8.
The poll is open to everyone who is thinking about (1) participating in FS2020, or (2) spectating from the sidelines.
P.S. If you were a participant in FS2017, FS2018, or FS2019 and have lost your (highly collectible!) identifier, I still have extras available. $1 for each zipper pull, $2 for each ankle band. PM me to arrange details.
I vote for ankle bracelet that is a different color. Otherwise, to be honest, I think the Green with no change but the year might be a tough sell. How about ORANGE or SCREAMING YELLOW?

ParticipantFor a warmer climate. Or for some (BOB JAMES!) for a much much colder one.

ParticipantMeh. It’s a COMPETITION! I would not divide further. If people want to ride casually, then they can without the further gnashing of teeth / data and randomization of BAFS Admin folks.
Also I support Max 150 MPW. I know a lot of folks who stopped riding when they reached 100 last year.
Local teams would be nice, but, on top of the milage balance, feels like a lot of work for someone other than myself.

ParticipantI have owned a Garmin radar for a couple of years. It is a GREAT safety addition. When a car is approaching from behind, your Garmin beeps, and a circle appears in the Right lower corner. As the car approaches, the dot moves from bottom to top.
At the same time, your radar LIGHTS change, from 4 slow blinking to 6 fast blinking, to warn the car. It is especially helpful in the country, where cars are less frequent but just as deadly. In the city, LESS helpful as the thing goes off every 1.2 seconds. I own the first generation. The above photo is the second gen, which is supposed to be brighter.Jessica Hirschhorn

ParticipantExcellent points. I guess the every day commuters have their advantage too. Suspect it all balances out in the end.

ParticipantI had an idea for next year. It would be more fair to distribute the RETIRED, (or working non-traditional day jobs) folks among the teams. We certainly have the advantage of being to ride all day every day, and avoid short periods of foul weather.
Perhaps it could be included on next years registration form?

PS I had a BLAST as Team Captain and am happy to repeat next year. My spouse was delighted that I found other people to boss around.

ParticipantLeaderboard shows me riding 78 days. I rode every day, which I believe is 79. Makes no difference to standings or team, but I want the “rode every day” pointless prize! Thanks. Regards, Jessica H.

ParticipantI will have a vehicle with donuts and lanterns. Where will the official SAG vehicle be parked? Toward the end after the bus parking?
