ParticipantLittle Free Library in the 1600 block of Jackson St. NE that I might never have passed had I not been trying to get away from the Amazon delivery driver yelling for me to hurry up and cross the street. I had the right of way to continue in the flow of traffic but was going extra cautiously in front of them because they completely sped through the stop sign and I wasn’t confident that they would actually stop.
I almost never use that block because it’s a steep up and down hill, but today got rewarded with three little Free Library holding the Golden Compass sword that I had wanted to reread.

ParticipantLittle Free Library in the 3800 block of 18th St NE. One we hadn’t noticed before today. Lots of room for more books. My daughter thought it was in particular need of more kids selections so we’ll try to deposit some next time we pass.

Participant1/12/2022 Cicada Husk
I didn’t find any on my first ride and thought it might be impossible, but after seeing here that others found some… challenge on! After dinner I rode back out to some trees I had seen swarming with cicadas in the spring and used my super bright headlight to find a couple. A little worse for the wear, but under some leaves, there they were!

Little Free Library for kids on the 1400 block of Irving Street NE, companion to an adult one I posted earlier. This one has a good selection of kids’ books, including a bunch by LM Montgomery and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Reading railroad, 1200 block of Kearny Street NE.
If it remember correctly from a chance meeting long ago, owned by a railroad aficionado and a former school teacher. Almost always very well stocked with great literature for all ages.Indiana
ParticipantLittle Free Library 2200 block of S St NE DC.
Cool DC stencil on door.
Lots of mysteries from Agatha Christie to modern day and Cheetah girl books. Could use more everything else, maybe sooner horticultural books since it’s great the National Arboretum.

ParticipantOne of the coolest Little Free Libraries is outside Brookland’s Finest restaurant in NE DC. A bike gear adorned robot with working temperature gauge (on the side, viewable in photo challenge thread)!
Sometimes the door sticks so I didn’t want to open it with this morning’s blowing snow, but it looks like it could use some organization and popular fiction.

Cuboid Android outside Brookland’s Finest restaurant, complete with bike gears and a temperature gauge showing this morning’s subfreezing temperatures…plus a Little Free Library to boot, frontal view on that thread.

Little Free Library (and two cones) I passed at the 1500 block of Irving Street NE en route to the big free library (DCPL) to drop off books. This one does well with book diversity: fiction and non fiction, new and old, books in good shape. High adult serendipity rating. Maybe could use a couple more classics. Others nearby cater to kids.
