I love the creative Mead photos! This morning I went with the more obvious, but still very picturesque (and not yet open) Meadworks.

Little Free Library on 6th Street about a block south of Stanton Park in Capitol Hill. Rode #withkidSnowLeopard who says there should be more kids’ books, but overall well stocked, including one favorite, Isabelle Allende’s “house of spirits” in Spanish. It also has the iconic “our bodies, ourselves,” by the Boston women’s health book collective.

It’s been ages since I had boba. My daughter got cold and I tried hot–pretty good! I liked how you could choose unsweetened or “barely sweet” and also choose your pearl quantity.Indiana

LFL at 1717 Swann St NW in Dupont Circle. Has a collection of fiction including a book of short stories called Uncommon Type by Tom Hanks. Who knew he was also a writer!
And a collector of typewriters!
I have to say that I enjoyed that book. An easy yet engaging, humorous, and touching read.Indiana

In honor of the Wolf Moon I donated “Over the Moon: The Broadway Lullaby Project” by Barbara Buck-Aronica.
Since it’s outside a public school with tracks in immersive Spanish and French, it could use more books in those languages. There was just a travel guide, but no children’s literature in languages other than English.Indiana

The owner of this Little Free Library on Quincy and 13th St NE DC is so nice, she once came out and asked my daughter what kind of books she liked. She said “hold on,” and went back into her house and pulled a couple hardbacks off her bookshelf to bring out! They library specializes in kids books and is well-stocked and maintained.

Mulan dumpling showed up in Google maps, which led me to learn more about this cool sounding local company
https://www.mulandumpling.com/
“In 2016, co-owner Roya Shadravan had discovered she had a brain tumor. Luckily she survived the operation with no harmful symptoms. The event changed her and her partner Kristy Lam’s lives. We became extra conscious about the food we ate, and it’s health benefits. We found it challenging to find convenient, international cuisine that was also healthy. As a result, we left our established careers and created Mulan Dumpling. We put our heart and soul into making a variety of delicious dumplings with fresh and natural ingredients.”I haven’t tried them yet, but Union Kitchen is one of the places you can buy them locally.
