ParticipantI looked into the YMCA and was surprised that were not too much cheaper than a Gold or similar gym.

ParticipantI try to wait out the lighting. As for rain, the hardest part seems to be getting the first drops of rain on you. I went to full fenders this winter and now love riding through puddles (no stripe here). The worst part of riding in the rain is when it stops and it gets all jungle outside.

ParticipantBummer… I think I got in under a special. Worth asking to see if they are running anything currently.

ParticipantI know you said you were shying away from gym memberships, but Fitness First at 19th at L is really darn cheap for area gyms. I think the month to month is $25. Good Luck!

ParticipantAh, maybe I’ll see if I can get them to apply some pressure to the benefits administrator.

ParticipantUpdate: Ruled out the seat. New crank and BB are on their way. I actually think I temporarily fixed things using a little Teflon tape on the spindle. Been quiet for three days now.
Thanks everyone

Participant@one eight: I did not in fact. I’ll try that to rule that one out before moving forward.
@Pete: I have a feeling that you are correct about the tapers being worn out. Last night I inspected the square taper on the crank and I could see some scraping on the anodized area but it didn’t really look dug in. Perhaps it is just enough to click and drive me mad. I’ll start shopping for a new crank/bb (non-square taper).
Thanks

ParticipantSame experience. Took me a couple months to find the best and safest route to work via trial and error. Google maps spit it out in seconds.

ParticipantCheck out google maps. They just added bike routes as beta. Upon checking out my normal route to work, their route matches almost turn by turn the safest shortest route I’ve come up with over time.
