I do. I think it’s a small price to pay for having local, national and international reporting.
I have trouble bringing myself to pay for their particular spin on things,

ParticipantDoes everyone but me have a subscription to WAPO? Seems like I get a popup blocking the article every time I click one of these links.

These Salzmann spoke reflectors are awesome, and I have them on all my wheels. I just use a couple on each wheel, 1 on each side of the tube valve. They’re relatively inexpensive, work really well, and don’t look as bike geeky as regular spoke reflectors (NTTAWWT).

Why is the package of (36 Pieces) so much more than the package of 36 pieces? Thanks for the linky!

ParticipantBest of luck with the recovery once the cast comes off!

ParticipantI have not read the text of the bill, but if it does not make this a primary offense, meaning that someone can be pulled over and ticked solely for this act, it will only serve as an add on as a result of some other offense and will likely have limited to no effect on the actual use of a phone while driving.

Hey Brad! Welcome! Got cookie?
I’m open to ideas and suggestions to help you feel part of the team. And let’s kick some FS butt!
No need to worry about me. I’ll participate with the team if I can, but will be a team member regardless.

ParticipantReporting for duty. Sorry I didn’t make the Happy Hour yesterday. I live near Quantico and work in DC. I’m not usually around on the weekend or after work hours, but I pledge to ride (at least a sleaze) every day and get at least a megamile in more often than not. Thanks for taking on the Captain role!

ParticipantMy simple 2019 cycling related goals were:
Ride every day during Freezing Saddles – completed
Ride 3000 miles – completed 3500
Lose 25 pounds – not even close. I think I actually gained a couple of pounds.
So, for 2020:
Let’s keep the first one and I’m off to a good start.
Lets make #2 3,650 or average 10 miles per day
And for #3, I’ll keep it as is, but add eat fewer snacks and better meals.
Best wishes to you on your goal!

ParticipantGotta set the hashtag, but I’m unhappy to say I gained a point this morning thanks to the person who disposed of their beer bottle by smashing it in the bike lane on the ART.

ParticipantOn the ART, EBT was mostly clear, with a few easily avoided frozen puddles this morning. I suspect most of them will be gone tomorrow. The WBT was another story. There are several massive ice flows that covered the entire trail. Interestingly, trying to go around them in the grass/dirt did not work well because the ground was not frozen and my tires sunk in. due to the size of these and the wet ground surrounding them, I suspect they will be back in play tomorrow morning.

I cleared our cars last night, and this morning they were covered in ice. I figure whatever fell on and iced the cars last night is also on the roads. I’ll sleaze after work.

ParticipantJust the watch.

ParticipantI tried to use Strava on my watch for a sleaze ride and it wouldn’t connect at all. Had to delete and reinstall it. Now it seems to work, but I haven;t tried to save and sync a ride since then.

First off, gloves. I’ve been through quite a few iterations of gloves over the past 3 years, but these have been far and away the best. I’ve been using them for the last 2 years now. I got a couple rips in seams but I sewed them back up and they’re working great again. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0743KJRBX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 What I really like about them is the versatility. I wear them as high has 60 degrees comfortably and I’ve been fine with them down into the single digits. For me, below freezing I usually have to pull out the over mitten but it really keeps my hands warm but it’s thin enough not to lose dexterity. At the end of the year last year I had the epiphany to slide a hand warmer (if needed) into the little pocket on the top but it hasn’t been cold enough this year to test that idea out yet. Bonus is that they dry out really quickly so I don’t have clammy and cold hands on the way home. If the hand warmer trick fails me this year I might try moose mitts/bar mitts.
I requested and received a pair of these for Christmas. I wore them for the first time this morning, when the temp was just below freezing. I previously have used a similar version that is a bit thicker, but without the mitten portion. I must say that I am shocked at how warm these kept my hands when using the mitten cover. It makes a huge difference. I can only imaging what they will do with a chem warmer tucked in. Thanks for the suggestion and linky!
