I did stay long enough to get a pic of my lovely spouse having her picture taken though!

I couldn’t stay for the advocate award sadly (had to pick up the dog from doggie day care). Did anyone get a pic?

One last bump. All the cool people will be there! (Except for me of course. I mean, I’ll be there, but dragging down the cool quotient.)

Note, there are a couple social events that I encourage us to attend:
Tomorrow, Monday evening, Team 6 is having a happy hour that I’m going to infiltrate
Team Casual Six is having a happy hour at Brookland Pint, 716 Monroe Street, NE Washington, DC 20017, on February 27 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Infiltrators are welcomed!
Also, the WABA awards and member meeting is Tuesday night, near Union Station:
I think voting is closed now, but there’s plenty of time to RSVP and attend (it’s a fun time and you can sometimes meet some politicians and lobby for better bike lanes and trails)

Next weekend, Laurie will be out of town doing another bike fitting class, so I’ll be leading the weekend’s Proteus rides. On Saturday, we’re heading from the shop at 10am to Roscoe’s Pizza in Takoma Park for an early lunch. There’s plenty of bike parking and outdoor seating if it’s warm. On Sunday, we’ll do a later-than-usual easy coffee ride to Hyattsville at 12pm. On Monday, the federal holiday, I’ll probably do a 2hr workout ride in the morning, maybe in the Beltsville Farms or maybe down the ART to DC, probably leaving at 10am. All are welcome on these rides — our shop rides in winter are usually just a handful of people, so it’s small and social not a big group or anything. And if you ride all the way to the bike shop to join us, you’ll rack up lots of miles for Team 7!

Here’s the event page for the pizza ride on Saturday (the 18th) https://www.facebook.com/events/1128119467310064/

Great ride today — looks like Team 7 had a big day with lots of 80, 90, and 100 mile rides!

Nice to meet you in person David Q!

David I think we’ll be closer to 11:30 or 11:45 to that point, especially if we take a 15min stop for snacks. I’m planning to leave CP at 10am, but sometimes departure delays etc.

Here’s where we’re meeting for lunch in Reston Town Center: http://midtownkabob.com/index.html in case we miss connections.

If water is flowing across the road above bottom bracket but below handlebars, use granny gear. If above handlebars, dismount cyclocross style and carry bicycle above head.

Hi guys, I’m doing this ride on Saturday, heading out from College Park at 10am toward Reston (or maybe Herndon) to have a quick lunch with my brother who lives out there. Would welcome company. Bring lock and trail lights for the return in case we’re running late. Infiltrators, social butterflies etc. welcome. I’ll be riding a medium pace — purposeful but not fast, possibly with an outbound stop at Shortcake bakery for a bit of fuel. -Jeff

Sorry I haven’t been able to find a bike to ride or a place to ride it this week. But I did get some bonus oddball animal pics for your amusement. Laurie got the better monkey and bird pictures with her real camera.
