ParticipantI would have this for breakfast. Unlike the last oatmeal stout at New District, which was more beer than oatmeal.

ParticipantMuch more balanced than I expected from a milk/coffee stout. Not too sweet, not too coffee. A favorite. Others sampled there were Accidental Amber Lager, Mosby’s Raiders Double IPA (I am a local history librarian, after all), John Champe and Oatlands.

ParticipantNom, nom, nom. Very well balanced, a dry sweetness. Description spot on. “Dark and inviting, a warming sensation as you’re sip brings out hints of rum and raisin. A decadent truth that is loaded with full-bodied & sticky malts, caramel & strong alcohol notes of rum. Dried fruit notes of dates & prunes meld into a maple like sweetness with rum overtones.” The perfect beer to start out a Purcellville pub crawl (i.e. ride).

The unidentified person with her back to the camera in pic 1 is reji, who was also at the Green Lizard. She’s infiltrating from Team 9.

ParticipantLast Dance Oatmeal Stout. The description says I should smell and taste the aroma of oatmeal. I do not want my morning oatmeal to smell like this. As a beer, though, it’s fine.

F’ the other teams gently? I don’t think so- we’re not metric lovers, Dewey decimal users over at team 18. Viva la Team 18!!!!
Umm, we might be Dewey Decimal lovers. I’m a librarian.

ParticipantHow about something involving the word TENacious for our team name? But I like math, too. I’m Elaine, and I met several of you last night. I live in Fairfax, south of GMU, and I commute into Fairfax city (4 miles) about twice a week. My schedule means I have to drive the rest of the time. I like beerneuring, but I work every other Saturday so might miss some weekend events.

ParticipantCask Defender APA. Loving the cask conditioned ales lately. This has just a touch of the grapefruit I usually don’t like but is great here. And it’s got a subtle sweetness that really works. Very good choice for beerneuring # 2.

ParticipantI can already tell that I have no chance at winning this. But in my defense, I did start early. Cask conditioned ESB with Fuggles and Prime. Creamy head, and the perfect temperature. Mild, and a great choice for my first beerneuring.

ParticipantI plan to be there. I’m new to FS and the forum, but I’m looking forward to meeting everyone.
