Participant1/30/2025: False. It would be false to assume that the asphalt applied to recent potholes has been compacted. One way to add traction to road tires.

Participant1/29/20: Udder. The Zoo trails were still iced over, the Nature Center was shut…had to resort to the Dairy section after Ben and Jerry’s let me down…kudos to Organic valley for accurately representing their cows complete with UDDERs, unlike the rest of the Dairy Industry! (Not sure they get to spend much time dancing like these two, however!).

Participant1/28/25: Fever. Forsooth! What strange Fever striketh mine eyes? Methinks I see the Purple Line!
These strange new tracks are part of the station to-be at Manchester Road, Silver Spring. But, I could have been dreaming.

Participant1/25/25: CRISP: Team 1o-10-10 assembled on a crisp winter morning and took-in the ice-hockey at the reflecting pool.

Participant1/22/2025 – REACH. Such is the gap between the leaders SWIFT 13 SPOKES (represented by Tyler S.) and Team 10-10-10 (rep = me), we could barely REACH each other when we met on Beach Drive today. The ice didn’t help. Go Maryland riders!

Participant1/21/2025 I’ve clearly fallen off the wagon, if not the bike… but for fun I’ll post it anyway: Despite my best intentions, the ICING on the final ramp prevented my complete tour de Montgomery College’s parking lot.

Participant1/20/25 – Squid. Well shoot, I admit that events yesterday overcame me and I went to bed early…forgetting to post my scavhunt photo here and only on strava. For the record, I had a nice conversation with the fishmonger at the store, who was apologetic they only had SQUID tentacles and not whole squid for sale. I bought some haddock instead!

ParticipantHi Team 10-10-10,
I’m excited to participate in my first FS this year – I moved to the DMV in 1998 from the UK, signed up for the DC AIDS Ride and have never looked back in terms of cycling being my main form of exercise and greatest source of joy. I’m a leadership coach and facilitator of team-building sessions, team retreats etc. I love to laugh and am thrilled to see the creativity and foolishness in the many pointless prizes.
Originally I come from Manchester in the UK. Merlin, it was cool to see your Yorkshire rides this week. Impressive gradients!
Cheers, Fiona

Participant1/18/2025 SILLY – I love the silly roosters around Takoma Park. Here’s a fine example, festooned with fake flowers

Participant1/11/25 DINGY – Nothing says dingy quite like an olde corset shoppe with dilapitated gas meters and graffiti.

Participant1/10/25 CRAWL: The daschund pup had to crawl out of the snow drift (seen on Baltimore Rd in TKPK).
