ParticipantIf you don’t mind, that would be great. And a million thanks for all that you are doing!

ParticipantI have a similar issue: I am showing as “Eric” instead of “Eric P” I thought I knew who i was, but now I’m not sure. I guess if all of the other Eric’s have a last initial, it is ok, but in case this is a symptom of a larger problem I thought you should know. Thanks

ParticipantLooking at my work and travel schedule leads me to make the decision that I cannot really participate this year. Can someone tell me who to contact to resign/withdraw/quit BAFS 2018? I will ride when I can, and cheer jealously from the sidelines, but just won’t enjoy not pedaling my weight this year.

ParticipantI said I wouldn’t, but of course I will, so I did.

ParticipantThanks for a great FSLSHPP and BAFS! Last night was a hoot, and I got to meet two teammates for the first time, enjoy a fortifying porter-flavored root beer (because, after all, beer is not allowed at HP), a life-changing cupcake, and quite a few laughs with my fellow nut-cases. I could not make it until midnight, but rolled into my driveway at about 11:57 just in time to stop the Garmin and have all the miles count. Thank again to all.

eric, are you still doing a century tomorrow?
No, rain prediction and a mid-day work call are messing with my riding plans. I hope to get out for shortish ride late in the day after my call.

Manual entries are not accepted. However, you can use something like RideWithGPS to reconstruct the ride.
Or if you did the ride with someone else, you can ask for that person’s file, and upload that to your own Strava.
Or if it’s a ride you often do, I’ve been successful in downloading another ride that is to/from the same place from Strava, opening the file in Notepad and changing all the dates, and then uploading it again.
Thanks! Hopefully this will not be an issue.

ParticipantMy laps and ride home last night were GREAT! A bit windy, especially on the southbound leg of Hains Point, but I was in shorts, was never even chilled, and even sweated a bit too much. In January! Caitlin was right, though, that the Georgetown Branch was still pretty muddy in places, but perfectly passable (glad I forgot to add air to my tires yesterday).
Happy Hour on the 24th sounds great, and either of Caitlin’s suggestions work for me. Capitol City Brewing on NY & 11th is also a close-in option with lots of space.
I hope everyone has a good weekend. I probably won’t be able to ride at all tomorrow and likely only do a trash ride on Sunday. Monday, however, I hope to get in a long ride and make up in miles for my missed days. Looking ahead, I am trying to plan a long ride (century or so) on Friday to spend the day in a peaceful, happy place far from the madding crowd. Not sure of any of the details, but I will post something here when I settle on a plan if anyone is interested in joining me.
Be safe and enjoy the ride home tonight!

ParticipantI figure I will hit the CCT close to 8 tonight. Hopefully it will be mostly dry. I turn off on Jones Bridge anyway and miss the really muddy section between there and the end of the trail.
A happy hour next week or the week after would be great for me. I work at Farragut Sq., so I can get anywhere pretty easily. Not sure about Monday, but I hope to do a longer ride out in the country somewhere.
Hope everyone enjoys a warm (but windy) ride home tonight!

ParticipantI’d be up for beers, rides and rides that lead to beer. Weeknights tend to be better, but a weekend ride would definitely be fun. More immediately, I am hoping to take advantage of the warm weather today and do some laps around Hains Point before heading home on the CCT. I will probably get to Hains Point around 6:30 or so. Anyone interested?

ParticipantThe best bargain in wool, especially for base layers, are those old sweaters with holes in them you (if you are like me) have stuffed in the back of drawers, closets, and bins. Wool is wool and you already paid for those old sweaters. You can be cheap and warm!
