Hmmm, if I’m headed in I have to be at McPherson by 8:30. 7:45 might be pushing it from Rock Creek. Haven’t done that route before.

    Saturday morning?

Hey all, sorry I’ve been MIA. Back in action now though.

For the joint commute this Friday I was actually planning on telework, but depending on meetings might end up going in. What time are you guys thinking? I’d be headed to McPherson Square.

Hey guys, happy to be on the team. I haven’t had the most miles lately but I shall do my best to get them back up as I have more time in the coming months.

    Best,
    Erik in Takoma Park

I enjoy buying the zipper tag identifier every year, then forgetting to attach it to anything. Call me a traditionalist.

Hey guys, Erik here. I’ve lived in DC for 12 years, but I grew up in NE Ohio. I actually got a bunch of my Ohioan uncle’s old cycling clothes for riding in Cleveland winters, so the cold doesn’t bother me too much. As long as it’s not freezing rain I’m out there.

Last year I only rode about 3,400 miles, but that was one of a couple lazy years after coming off a few years of ultra races and similar such nonsense. I’m trying to get back into it this year, looking at a couple 24 hour rides and what not. Lately I’ve been supplementing my 12.5 mile round trip commute with laps at Hains Point. Now that the snow is off the ground, on weekends I’ll likely head out Macarthur to Poolesville. I’m not too creative on route selection since I used to ride exclusively with DC Tri Club and that’s what they ride, so definitely let me know if there are routes you guys recommend.

I have a lipstick sized charging device I use on 60+ mile rides to recharge my gps tracker/phone/etc. It’s not heavy and since it’s so small it’s easy to bring. It makes me feel much safer since I know I can recharge my phone in case I get stranded.

It also works great on road trips when your husband somehow takes up EVERY SINGLE POWER OUTLET in the car…

I picked up one of these, now we have multiple charging cables snaking everywhere in the Subaru! (Not sure if links work on the forum, so we’ll see):

Oh, also, I’m Erik. My girlfriend and I live in Anacostia near Fort Circle park. I commute 7.5 miles one way to Dupont Circle 5 days a week (unless there are plumbing emergencies). Because I’m competitive, I guess I’ll be riding on the weekends again. I’m just getting back into cycling after taking two years off, though, so I’m not very fast or in shape any more. Here’s hoping for some positive gains this year!

P.S. Where is M.P.? I’m not the most Arlington savvy. My head-map of Arlington just says,”Thar be dragons and brown flip flops.”

High Rollers? Thigh rollers? We hit on 17? I’ve got precious little to go with blackjack.

Alternatives: More like Twenty-FUN. 21 Fun salute. 21 means old enough to party. (Lucky) Twenty-Spun.

The only one I’ve come up with that I thought was reasonable was “Plucky 21”. You know, if we think we’re particularly plucky. Other than that, we can ignore the number, and just go with something generic like “Why aren’t tacos a breakfast food?” I dunno, I’m spitballing here.

Hey guys, sorry I missed the happy hour. Plumbing emergency.

I’m down for a group ride, wherever works. My girlfriend is headed out of town for two weeks so I’ve got tons of time to ride. Wooo team 21!
