ParticipantNot sure if OP is still evaluating, but adding 1UP is really solid rack. Heavy, though, so bear that in mind if you plan to mount/dismount it often.

ParticipantSigns up saying the one lane bridge in Cabin John on MacArthur will be closed Oct. 16-17 from 9a-2p.
I’ve seen such signs before and the road isn’t closed, so YMMV

ParticipantAdding Loughboro Road in DC from Arizona to MacArthur, which is being repaved (it needed it). Currently the pavement has been milled on the eastbound side for the entire distance. The westbound side is mostly paved, except for a stretch in the middle and the last downhill before MacArthur. Work ongoing, so hopefully nice and smooth in another week or two.

ParticipantIf the parade happens, presumably they’ll do the same as for the inauguration, which is remove all the obstacles (stop lights, bike lane protectors, etc.). But instead of repaving beforehand it will be done afterwards, including the bike lanes, and then everything will get reinstalled. It’s hard to imagine that they’d repave the car lanes but not the bike lanes (or do the bike lanes later).

Yeah, that’s what I’ve done. Just need to make sure it doesn’t duplicate which is what it’s currently doing. Have to delete the duplicates on strava. Of course, I could always just record on my Garmin device and this would all be moot….. But then I don’t get to choose fancy new ride titles without going in to Strava and making edits. I just want it all done for me!!!!!!! Ok, I’ll stop whining now….
Right now Strava pulls from Garmin, but Garmin doesn’t pull from Strava. Neither pushes to the other. It’s easy to turn off Strava from pulling from Garmin – just disconnect/deauthorize in Strava and Garmin.
As for your original question, I’m not quite sure why if you like Strava you’d want to move things to Garmin. Either way the syncing isn’t going to be perfect and you’re going to get duplicates. And if the goal is to have “everything” in one place, right now it’s easier to achieve that with Strava being the one place than Garmin, unless you record all activities with Garmin.
