Yeah, I’m actually using a velocity deep v rear, just bought it from a guy that didn’t have the front wheel. Hence the $30 Alex wheel from REI that as it turns out, only accepts 23 and smaller tires. So that’s fun. Here’s a picture of the bike in all its baby-blue glory.

’77 Panasonic Sport Deluxe frame with I’m assuming are the original components, minus the ss/fixed setup.
After being in Maine for a week, you’re going to have a hell of a time running that big a gear. Might want to consider a smaller chainring.

ParticipantThat section starts to become really bad in winter, I go out of my way to avoid it if I even think there might be moisture on the surface.

ParticipantLike wheel locks for a car – you can get them off without a key, but it’s more likely the thief will just move on to something easier.

ParticipantI was in Boston last weekend and noticed the docks – I tried my key in one and it just made a very rude noise at me.

ParticipantI thought this was about the guy who always hangs out on the bench between Lynn St and the bridge to Roosevelt Island…

Cool day in the tour today.

Maybe it’s a cleaner sport making for closer racing, who knows, but this year’s Tour has been more exciting than any in recent memory. Another great stage of racing today.
I’ll just leave this here –

ParticipantI’m still pulling for Cadel to win but Andy erased all the doubts today. Amazing performance.

ParticipantSmartwool ultra light weight and Defeet Aerator work for me. Honestly, on a day like today nothing’s going to help you.

ParticipantI have got to see this when you’re done… of course I think I’ll be able to see it no matter where I am.

I don’t agree – I think one of them has to be sacrificed and they’re not willing to do that. If one breaks away and the other stays behind it’s perfect but they both want to win, and that can’t happen. I think it’ll take them both down. Not to mention I don’t think either one has the legs to win it this year. Now Contador… he’s improving every day and he hasn’t shown his cards yet.
Just caught the late replay – damn I called this pretty well. Also THOR SMASH!!!

Nice post. An interesting aside: Did you know that all legally enforceable signs in Virginia that are erected by the various governments are supposed to have a sticker on the back of them? I forgot what it says, but it is a little white sticker indicating it is backed by Virginia code. This is to differentiate these official signs from ones that are installed by others. A cop told me this, but don’t like to advertise this for some reason.
Not true.
What you might be thinking of is that temporary parking signs must have been in place for 24 hours before they can be enforced, so the date they are put up and a temporary ordinance is enacted is usually written on the back of the sign. Sign stickers are for inventory more than anything.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens in the next few days. I honestly don’t think the Schlecks have started to race yet. I think I finally understand their strategy and it is risky, but quite possibly brilliant. I guess we’ll find out in Paris.

ParticipantIt gets worse the further north of NY Ave Metro you get… I run the trail pretty often and I’ve never had any problems. I don’t think I’d run it at night though.
