+1 for that story, and what kind of dog lights are you giving out? My dog’s blinky collar has stopped working so I ordered a bunch of random lights off the net to see which one works well. He’s going to look like my bike before too long…

This is right in the middle of the area I try to avoid at rush hour… any ideas for a route from Arlington? Anyone heading over there around 5ish?

If I don’t ride the whole thing I’ll certainly meet up with the group at Eastern Market, I live around the corner.

I think I might be able to help with this one, we’ll see what time I get done around here.

Are they still running the Tuesday night rides? It’s dark the entire time now.

Road bike needs pads twice a year, commuter… I’ll tell you when I replace them. The brakes on my commuter are terrible so I concentrate on not needing them as much as possible. It’s on my list to convert that bike to run a front disc brake, maybe over the winter. I run kool stop salmon pads on both right now, although I’m pretty impressed with the Swiss Stop pads that came on another bike I’m working on.

I really need to start changing my route in the morning to figure out how a morning commute came to discuss that.

Also the episode discussing that treaty was one of the finer TNG moments…

First and foremost, glad you’re okay. I do think you made a mistake by declining a hospital visit after being knocked unconscious for several minutes so please be very aware of your condition over the next 24 hours and if you feel in any way off, go get checked out.

As a snarky aside, I’m sure NPS appreciates your situation as continuing justification for owning an airboat.

Would have been there – bi-annual responsibilities as a son got in the way. Next time. Looks like fun though.

Speaking of cycletracks, it looks like DC is setting up a special one for salmons out of water: http://www.ccca-online.org/5thStNWSharrows. Is this really a good idea?

I really hope that first pic is a photoshop… the design is completely wrong. They actually got the contraflow lane right at New Hampshire/16th/U so it’s a mystery why that one would be so wrong.

Not to mention that they’re designed with a vertical cutoff which few bike lights even pretend to have.

This is 100% the difference… although there are new lights coming out designed with commuting in mind that build in a vertical cutoff. See here – http://reviews.mtbr.com/philips-saferide-led-bike-light-2012-mtbr-lights-shootout
