Speaking of city streets, I have avoided Washington Blvd., but it’s interesting how none of the main arteries seem to have bike provisions. Glebe was a nice ride — early on Sat. morning — but those cars were incredibly close. Went to Potomac Yard a number of times, but used parallel streets (Eads) rather than Jefferson Davis hwy.

I’m happy to report that I didn’t die and I guess I’m getting the hang of these freeway-streets.
Given time, you learn routes that don’t involve the big six-lane roads or the fast divided highways. The region needs to do a better job getting new cyclists to those routes though. I’m glad you were able to find at least a few alternatives during your stay.
And no, the bugs never do get better.

Not sure I’ve seen this bike before, it’s absolutely gorgeous. Very jealous.

Fuji Cross Comp frame set and wheels. Good deal for $240?
http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/bik/3894136668.htmlDecent if you have a groupset in the parts bin or can get one cheap. Or if you’re looking to go singlespeed. Otherwise it’ll be $500+ to complete it with new parts and then you could have bought the whole bike used anyway.

I’m interested in putting more bikes on that monster, where did you get the additional pads from?
If yours is the same as mine (mine was from Performance Bike but it looks exactly the same) then these will fit – http://www.performancebike.com/bikes/Product_10052_10551_1023857_-1_400245__400245

ParticipantThose are both absolutely stupid deals. The second ad almost sounds legit except for the price. The first one… meh.

This is what I use for home storage:
It takes up more space than the other storage solutions before this post but it is self standing and you don’t have to worry about damaging the walls or keeping your wheels clean before hanging up your wheels. It’s all metal and very sturdy.
I have the same rack, and by adding additional pads to the arms I can keep four bikes comfortably on it. I don’t see how I’d do better for the space that it takes up.

Nope. Spanish Trail Blvd across the AIWW in Boca Raton.
Ha! Not quite, Spanish River Blvd. I knew it looked familiar. I used to live there. My friend lived on the Intracoastal about 200 feet south of that bridge. What’s the best kind of boat? The one your friend has.

Was down in Florida for a couple of days without a bike. Had I thought through the process, I could have hit a bike shop or two for test rides which would have netted me some NBC points.
Saw a sign which seemed directive in nature. Because of my minimal art skills I was unable to comply. Needed Dickie!
It is really stretching for me to try and guess this, but it wasn’t taken anywhere near Bradenton, was it?

ParticipantGreat bones to build almost any sort of bike. If it was a 54cm we’d be talking…

ParticipantI run into that person all the time and I’ve given them a few “nice bike”s. If she is who I think she is, I even turned on her rear light for her once at a stoplight. I’ll be creepy and mention this the next time I see her.

Not sure if this is a good price, but i’ve read good things about Lemonds!
Not a good price for a bike that old with Sora.
