I’m wishy washy about happy hour This Friday (trying to close on a refi by the end of the month)
Don’t you have to do that stuff during business hours anyway? We can make HH at 7 pm – I’ll buy you a drink!

fwiw, roads here in Arlington are clear — husband just left with the kids on the bakfiets. I’m telecommuting but will be sure to get in a ride later. Happy hour is probably not in the cards for me, but I will gift my beer to whomever has the longest ride today
Oh, and sjclaeys, it sounds like the storm was a dud in NYC, so you should be fine on Citibike. If you can find a working kiosk.
Yeah I’m already regretting not biking in today. On the plus side, I am motivated to run some errands tonight.

ParticipantAlso…back to #3! And I know sjclaeys has some miles to post tonight because I saw him on 4MR this morning!

back to #4!!!
now, since i didn’t respond to the “apologies in advance” thread – I’ve got a conference tomorrow that won’t allow me to put in any miles. (in my best canuck accent) Surry!
how ’bout this enticement: anyone on our team that rides tomorrow for more than 1 mile (1/27/15) gets a beer on me at whatever/whenever the next team 5 HH ends up being!
Deal! How’s Friday 1/30 work for people?

Colleen: your 21.3 today – my 14.8 so far today = 6.5. My ride home is 7.4…just sayin’.
You have me beat then. I’m away from my bike the rest of the day. Thanks for throwing down the challenge. I hadn’t planned on biking that much today.

I’m good for at least 15 miles today. I challenge everyone on our team to beat me on points today.
Challenge accepted!

But then we’d have to pick between Anna and Elsa…
Honestly, I don’t care, as long as it’s not offensive to someone on the team. It seems that “Snot Rockets” and anything dog (or dawg, because duh) related falls into the latter category. But maybe we should be riding a little more… What’s it gonna take to get Bill, Erin and Maddie out on some sleeze rides?
Ok picture this. We’re all on a group ride, and someone yells, ‘Team Snot Rocket, assemble!’ We all get together, Saturn-class snot rockets on deck, then on the count of three we all launch them (in a well-aimed, predetermined direction), and then blast off to rack up more sick points for our team.
Now I ask you, what part of that is even remotely offensive???
But yeah, it doesn’t have to be our team name. Maybe more like a theme, or a team cheer?
Right now I’m liking Team “They who must not be named” or just Death Eaters. Or, wait, no, Team Dementor, or Team My Patronus is a Bike!
Let’s keep the discussion going…

ParticipantI don’t know about you guys but I am enjoying fighting about a team name way more than if we actually had a team name. Now time for more Star Trek themed suggestions!!
Kobyashi Maru <- that is very fitting, but we want to win fair and square
THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS
KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN
My Bike Has a Transparent Aluminum Frame
Team V: The Final Frontier
Jarmok and Jelad at Tenagra <- because we have to work together! ha!
Star Trek III: The Search for Sleaze

Looks like the Bollard Busters are in on this one, too. If any Snot Rockets are still up for this as a group thing, we could join forces and ride with them. I’ll probably roll with Rockford anyway, so she and I can be the inter-team ambassadors, despite her trash-talking me on this very thread merely a few posts back.
I think it’s a great idea for first group ride – I’m planning on making it.

ParticipantI like salty dawgs, too. Also I don’t really have a strong opinion on team name nor am I any good at coming up with them. My only idea, which I have chosen to keep to myself until now, is the snot rockets. For reasons that should be obvious. But it’ snot that creative. (Was going to correct that typo, but decided it was better that way).

ParticipantI’m going to vote for salty dogs as well. Now that I’ve googled bakfiet, I might try to find one for taking the pup on rides.
