Today’s wind was exceedingly annoying since it seemed to be consistently coming from wnw, which is horrible if you’re coming up MVT then north up 15th, but I didn’t notice much wind chill. I actually went with shorts and was fine that way, but I don’t chill too easily.

It was cold and straight in your face on the W&OD westbound. I actually stopped and popped a shell back on.

. I really hate how ebike manufacturers falsely advertise the top speed and distance possible.

That’s Specialized, which taking it further is owned by Merida, one of the largest bike manufacturers in the world. I’ll bet they’re not over-fudging it.

Awwww, we want to pass it NOW! Besides, it’s “constructive criticism” in todays PC world! :)

I’m wondering about Specialized’s market here? It’s not legal in the US, UK, and much of Europe. I guess they plan to make up for the limited market with its $8500 price tag!

Electronic speed limiter get it past regs you think? And yeah, too rich for my blood!

edit to add: Oh, I did forget to acknowledge that they did zig-zaggy pavement lines approaching the crosswalk, which protects pedestrians and cyclists by indicating to drivers that they’ve suddenly been transported to Europe.

Yeah, those ziggy-zaggy’s work well at Belmont Ridge Road with the almost blind curve.

Another thing to consider is our interaction with GOOD drivers who wave us through stop signs and other intersections and developing a conditioned response.

Those drivers can be dangerous as hell, sorry to say.

Seriously, it must be “Let’s Drive Cars and Trucks on Trail” Week, I’ve had run-ins with an Arlington County dump truck (W&OD), a landscaping company truck (Custis), and a seemingly random car (maybe utility?) parked awkwardly across the W&OD.

Head out past Vienna. We have backhoes and steamrollers :)

I’d rather live with the cold than the 20-30mph winds forecast.

The simple answer is folding bikes! I reckon most people willing to commute by metro during peak hours would be well served by a folding bike.

But then I’d have to start a thread about where to keep my circus bear suit when I get to the office! :)
