I heard about people get rid of bikes when they buy new ones. That’s just crazy.
Yeah it is. That’s why I have 15 now.

My own question: Does anyone know what the blue icon is for, the icon above each post? That’s a space-waster. And a complaint: There’s already a new version of the forum software out. They didn’t let us be up to date for even one day.
It’s the default icon for the post title. I know that you have the ability to title an individual post (I just did), and it displays for the title. I attached one to see if it changed. Effectively the “Post Icons” at the bottom of the reply when you reply in advanced formatting mode versus quick reply. That may be something you need to turn on or off in the back end. Been a while since I’ve been in the admin back end of this software.
Or it might be one of the “fixes” in the new version.. LOL

Is there any way for the “What’s New” feature to always show you threads with messages that you haven’t read? Sometimes, I have been reading “What’s New” and when I click on it again to return to the list of threads, all of the threads have disappeared. Other times, I am reading “What’s New” in the morning over coffee, but if I don’t get through all of them, I can’t see the remainder at work. Not sure if this has been resolved in the new version or not.
That’s actually a session timeout value between the client (you) and the server. After a given number of screen refreshes it considers all the threads updated. Best way to escape that is to close the browser if you walk away. It’s not really so much of a bug as it is an operational “assumption” that after 20 minutes or so you’ve read all the threads.
(While I don’t run this site I do several MUCH bigger ones – the answer isn’t just because I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night

ParticipantThanks Pete.
I usually don’t keep bikes long enough to wear them out
Generally flip them for the next nicer toy on the planet. That said, I’m at the upgraded so many times point where it’s almost cheaper just to buy another frame and switch components, and voila! new bike.
Although there was a strong desire to click “buy” on all SRAM Red stuff for the new frame, but knew that was overkill!

Thank you! Actually I am a college student, I am going to ride home this summer. I think that would be exciting!
It could be fun, but you’re talking 125 miles here. Being young gets you some credits, but it’s still a lot of miles for someone not used to doing a lot of riding.

Yes ,I have a road bicycle. I learnt to ride since I was 8 years old, so my skill is not so bad. I just want to know which equipment are the necessary for a 200km riding.
200km? Some practice to harden up your behind, and I’d at minimum carry the essentials.. tire repair tools and tube, a multi-tool, and certainly water bottles, etc. Do you know how to do roadside repairs if needed? That’s a distance that could potentially put you pretty far from home and that can tax getting support promptly.

If they’d just pave it once per decade or so it would be pretty good. They seem to pave the actual parkway every couple of years, is it so unreasonable to just send a little bit of the asphalt 20 feet to the right?
Totally agree. Not to mention the way it just kind of dies at Fair Lakes. Heck, put bike lanes in and run it to the shopping center. It can be tricky to dodge cars in that area, most are flying

I don’t see it in Firefox 3.6, ?
Might want to consider trying an upgrade to something a bit more recent.. like Firefox 5. 3.6 I’m sure doesn’t support a lot of the newer formatting features for the web these days.

ParticipantAww that sux. I know that feeling firsthand. There needs to be a special place in hell for thieves.
Be sure to quietly watch Craigslist.

ParticipantLooks like the “like” functionality is working. Smart enough to not let you like one of your own posts. What’s the matter with colors? Looks fine in Safari.

ParticipantCan’t duplicate it again. Actually had one of Ann’s posts up with the option to delete. She’s right on that fine member status line, was tempting to knock her back down… LOL

ParticipantHmm.. Somehow got into a “Moderation tools” menu. Unless I’m a moderator and don’t know it. Seeing if I can duplicate it. You changing things right now? May just have caught something on a refresh

ParticipantI’d volunteer, but I’m really ugly and I’d scare folks off. I even have to bribe my dog with biscuits.

americancyclo, where did you find the control to like a post?
Also, I’m working on background colors now — I was confused about which links go with which post. The “reply with quote” link is after the post, not before.
Joe, it’s on the right under the join date/location/post count, the count that is. The “like” is a nav bar under each post
And it is a “thumbs up”
That the snap in I found?
