Beside, riding with earphones is illegal in Virginia. If I decide to buy it, I need to consider the environment and turn it down when riding on the trail. Thank you for all the feedback.

Here is the link to the VA law.

Actually, riding with just one plugged in is legal.

Yeah, takes a lot to flag one down, figured the fool would just repost it. Figured the best way was to escalate it to Revolution so they can invalidate the code. Thanks.

I would think protocol would be to call in another officer to cover it, but maybe that’s too much to ask….

Yeah, but they’re the FR access roads to a lot of the side trails up in those parts.

We moved to Winchester from Harrisonburg, know it well. Used to commute to Bethesda from right by JMU :(

Looking at the GPS tracks, looks like a lot of the FR’s I take the Jeep out on.

Borrow or rent a battery powered angle grinder with a cutoff wheel. Alternatively buy one then return it I guess. You’ll only use it for about 60 seconds :)

Was a nice ride. 200 miles over 4 days, got rained on a bit on Wednesday with the same system that’s here today but the rest of the days were nice. Yesterday was absolutely glorious for weather.

I’ll highly recommend the stretch from Cleveland south to Massillon, and the road sections were certainly manageable. The NPS sections through the Cuyahoga Valley were wonderful. Cleveland itself was…interesting is a good adjective. Kind of like riding a bike through the more interesting sections of SE DC :p

Riding the bikes through the center of the BF Goodrich plant in Akron was a blast, that was a route given to us by locals, and the trail itself looks like it’s only a month or so from completion through that stretch. South of Akron the trail actually is floating on a lake. Places on the map that show as gaps are under active construction.

Would definitely consider it again and would take more time in doing it as there were a LOT of historical diversions as side trips close to the trail.

Thanks for the heads up. I just rolled through there about 10 minutes ago, and they were gone. Granted, I believe the trail is officially “closed” at dark anyhow.

They keep telling me that at 2-3am :)

As the owner of one I can say that you’d have to pry it from my cold dead hands :)

There’s value in buying one new – Mine’s 2, maybe 3 years old. It’s used every day in all weather. Recently the buckle has started to rust. I dropped them a message, and they’re replacing the bag. How’s that for customer service?

Good for you. I ran the Wisconsin light and hadn’t seen him. Heard the radio squawk and was hoping he’d try and chase me. He looked like he was carrying a full load of donuts in the front :)

Last time I got caught it cost me $175.

Do most helmet cams have simple handlebar attachment options?

The goPro it’s an option unless you buy the bike specific kit.

I have one, I use it on occasion, but for the most part I’ve found mine to be a neater idea in theory than actual practice. The commute is only so exciting.

Interesting. Saw a bike cop on M Street in G’town at 4am yesterday. I have NEVER seen one at that time of the morning.

    You got a ticket?

FFXPD have always thanked me for the info, and told me that they DO send officers to the residence for a friendly chat. Definitely report it.

Makes me wish I had a camera when I rode.

I got in a bit of an altercation with one last year and I’ll vouch for the fact that FFX takes them seriously. It was a bit of a “he said she said” until I produced video. Cop politely asked the driver if she was interested in changing her statement (without telling her I had it all on video)… and promptly issued her a ticket.
